Sirens: Firecrackers in Mailbox; Assault; Theft

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Assault 

• A fourth-degree assault reported in the 200 block of South Pearl Street just before 1:05 p.m. on Feb. 23 is under investigation. 

 

Theft 

• A chainsaw was reported stolen from Alder Street just before 5:20 p.m. on Feb. 23. The case is under investigation. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Firecrackers in Mailbox 

• Just before 12:25 p.m. on Feb. 22, a caller reported finding “firecrackers in her mailbox” in the 1600 block of Southwest Wilson Avenue. 

 

Harassment 

• A case of harassment reported in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street just before 12:55 p.m. on Feb. 22 is under investigation. 



 

Theft 

• A vehicle prowl reported in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just before 1:35 p.m. on Feb. 22 is under investigation. 

• A male subject reportedly stole a box of tools from the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4:25 p.m. on Feb. 22. 

• A cellphone was reported stolen from a store in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 11:05 p.m. on Feb. 22. 

 

Fraud 

• A case of “non-specific fraud” reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 6:15 a.m. on Feb. 24 is under investigation. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 170 inmates, including 156 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 116 were reported male and 40 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
