Centralia Police Department
Theft
• A cellphone was reported stolen at around 5:08 p.m. June 19 in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road. No suspect information is known at this time.
Arrests
• Brian M. Volk, 46, of Centralia, was arrested in the 1300 block of Logan Street and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, at about 8:25 p.m. June 19.
Crashes
• A one-vehicle collision was reported at around 9:52 p.m. June 19. The vehicle reportedly slid off the roadway and hit a light pole, which caused it to spin around and come to a stop after hitting a fence in the 600 block of North Gold Street. No one was injured.
• Kerry Palmer, 56, of Chehalis, was arrested at around 10:41 a.m. on June 18 and later released for a hit-and-run after being involved in a motor vehicle collision and fleeing the scene in the 2400 block of Reynolds Avenue.
Driver flees
• After an officer conducted a traffic stop, the driver fled from the vehicle on foot at around 12:11 a.m. on June 20. The driver has not yet been located. The case is still under active investigation, according to a news release from the Centralia Police Department.
Stolen vehicle recovered
• A stolen motor vehicle was recovered at about 10:57 a.m. June 18 in the backyard of a residence in the 200 block of North Gold Street.
Assault
• Officers are investigating a possible assault with a motor vehicle in a road rage incident reported at around 11:20 p.m. June 18 at North Pearl Street and West Magnolia Street. The case is under investigation.
• Richard Noto, 77, of Centralia, was referred to the Centralia Municipal Court at around 2:56 p.m. June 18 for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after allegedly pushing a family member months prior in the 100 block of Jackson Street.
Driving under the influence
• Wilman, A. Orellana Alfaro, 20, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for DUI at about 11:01 p.m. June 18 at East Summa Street and South Gold Street.
Chehalis Police Department
Arrests
• Ross C Plumb, 38, of Tacoma, was arrested for forgery and obstructing a law enforcement officer after allegedly attempting to cash a fraudulent check at around 5:09 p.m. June 18 in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.
• Priscilla J Vance, 47, of Chehalis, was arrested and booked at the Lewis County jail for two counts of third-degree assault at 11:32 a.m. on June 13 at the corner of Southwest Pacific Avenue and Southwest John Street. Charges of resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless burning were also referred to the prosecutor’s office.
• James Fodge, 28, of Centralia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree criminal trespass and possessing drug paraphernalia at 8:31 a.m. June 16 in the 600 block of West Main Street.
• Ramirez Corona, Litzy, 20, of Centralia, and Zarate, Jazalynn R, 21, of Toledo, were arrested following a DUI and hit-and-run in the 1100 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue at around 11:00 p.m., June 16. Ramirez Corona was booked for fourth degree assault, domestic violence and obstruction, while Zarate was booked for DUI third-degree DWLS.
Criminal trespass
• No arrests were made following a report at about 8:17 a.m. June 18 from the 1200 block of Southwest Ripple Street, which stated that a neighbor was trespassing in a yard looking for a cat. The caller was advised to call the police if a person was in his yard unlawfully.
• A caller reported a trespasser yelling at staff and requested a trespass flag be placed on them in the 100 block of Northwest State Avenue. The trespasser was not present at the time of the call at 4:52 p.m. June 13.
• A subject was reportedly trespassing at 7:44 a.m. June 15 in the 600 block of West Main Street.
• A male was reportedly trespassing in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street at 2:30 p.m. June 15.
• A “camp of transients” was reported in the 1100 block of Northwest Shoreline Drive at 9:20 a.m. June 16, but when checked by police, no trespassers were found.
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run was reported at the corner of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Prindle Street at about 12:22 p.m. June 18.
Legal advice
• A caller wanted to know the legality of driving with an opened bottle of alcohol in the 200 block of Southeast Washington Avenue at around 3:47 p.m. June 18.
Vehicle collision
• A two-vehicle collision occurred at 5:35 p.m. June 18 in the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard. No injuries were reported.
Animal negligence
• A dog was reportedly tied to a tree and barking for hours, according to a call at 7:49 p.m. on June 18 from the 1700 block of South Market Boulevard.
• Two dogs were left in a truck in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at around 1:57 p.m. June 16 with windows barely cracked, according to a caller.
ICE advice
• A call came in from the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue asking if Immigration and Customs Enforcement was in the area of Home Depot at 8:05 a.m. June 13.
Verbal dispute
• A verbal dispute was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 3:59 p.m. June 13. No crime occurred.
Suspicious circumstances
• Two people were reportedly “looking for their keys” in the yard of a caller in the 600 block of Northwest Gertrude Street at 10:21 a.m. June 14. They left after being talked to by the caller, who pointed out their keys were already in their hands. They were reportedly drunk.
• A suspicious person was reported in the 10 block of Northeast Median Street at 11:07 p.m. June 17. The caller just wanted the person to be “moved along.”
• A man was reported “prowling” around the 600 block of Southwest William Avenue at 3:25 a.m. June 16. The suspect had no weapons and did not want to talk, according to the police report.
• A man was reportedly lurking around a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue, not buying anything but picking things up and putting them back. No theft was reported. Store managers advised him to leave and contact the police if he returned at about 2:31 a.m. June 16.
• A man was reported to be standing in the dark on the south side of a building at 10:54 p.m., June 16, in the 1700 block of North National Avenue.
• A call was made from the 500 block of North Market Boulevard at 9:53 a.m. June 18, which stated that someone was yelling in the alley. The Chehalis Police Department stated that there was no emergency as the person “had headphones on and was singing along.”
Disorderly conduct
• A caller in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was threatened by a customer after being told he’s not allowed to sit on the property. The customer then threw a product at the caller after being denied a sale at 11:30 p.m. June 14.
• A man was reportedly walking in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue “screaming and yelling” at 4:33 p.m. June 15.
Driving under the influence
• A possible DUI was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue after a caller reported the car ahead of them was “all over the road” at 10:13 a.m. June 15. No arrests were made.
Medication fraud
• Someone picked up a caller's medication at the Chehalis Walmart at around 3:54 p.m. June 15.
Suspicious vehicle
• A white SUV was reported at about 8 p.m. June 15 for being in the 400 block of Northwest Quincy Place for “two months or more,” and according to the caller, the trunk was stuck shut.
Attempted scam
• A resident called the Chehalis Police Department at around 4:02 p.m. June 16 and reported a scam call in which a caller said they were with the sheriff’s department. The scammer reportedly “couldn’t pronounce Chehalis.” The scammer said the responder had a warrant for missing jury duty. He hung up after the responder replied with “come arrest me then.”
Child neglect
• Two young girls were reportedly wandering in and out of the roadway in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard at 4:12 p.m. June 16. No adults were nearby, although the caller spoke with one of the parents who advised he would “make sure they don’t go in the road.”
Harassment
• Ongoing harassment was reported at 8:37 a.m. June 17 in the 300 block of West Main Street.
Huge Possum Spotted
• A possum was spotted in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at around 4:06 a.m., June 19. According to the report from the Chehalis Police Department, the caller reported it was going in circles and was possibly injured. The caller also advised the police that the possum was “huge.”
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 174 inmates, including 161 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 132 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 30 inmates, including 17 booked by the Centralia Police Department, four booked by the state Department of Corrections, two booked by the La Push Quileute Nation, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Law Enforcement and five booked by the Tulalip Tribe.
