Sirens: Girl assaults facility staff; arrests for drugs, assault and weapons; jewelry stolen from booth; tools taken in burglary

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Jaime M. Granados, 31, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 9:42 p.m. Aug. 8 for first-degree burglary after attempting to break into a house in the 600 block of Northwest Folsom Street by swinging an axe at the back door.

 

Malicious mischief

• A window in the 400 block of South Market Boulevard was reported shot out at around 1:46 p.m. Aug. 8.

• A resident’s flowers were reported torn up at about 9:38 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 300 block of South Market Boulevard.

 

Vehicle accident

• A two-vehicle collision occurred at the corner of Northwest Arkansas Way and Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 5:37 p.m. Aug. 9.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Sueangela Watt-Anderson, 48, of Rochester, was cited for hit-and-run after being involved in a motor vehicle collision in the 1000 block of South Yew Street and allegedly fleeing the scene at about 4:23 p.m. Aug. 11.

• A girl was arrested after she escaped from a health care facility in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road where she was being held for involuntary treatment. The female threw bricks at staff and assaulted officers by punching, kicking and attempting to bite. The female allegedly continued her assaultive behavior after being transported to the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center at about 7:53 a.m. Aug. 11.



• Bradley W. Hart, 40, of Centralia, was arrested at around 10:13 a.m. Aug. 12 in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue and booked into the Lewis County Jail on drug-related charges.

• Mark A. Silva, 45, of Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 3:26 p.m. Aug. 12 on the crime of harassment and threats to kill after he allegedly made a threat to shoot someone in the head while he was soliciting money from patrons of a business in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue.

• Dori Hoffman, 22, of Everett, was arrested and booked into Chehalis Tribal Jail for an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant for dangerous weapons and a new charge of obstructing a law enforcement officer after she allegedly drove away from a lawful detention in the 300 block of Lowe Street at about 12:07 a.m. Aug. 13.

 

Theft                                         

• Approximately $600 worth of jewelry was reported stolen at about 2:57 p.m. Aug. 11 from a booth in the 1900 block of South Gold Street, which was left unattended overnight. This case is under investigation.

• A burglary, which occurred during nighttime hours, was reported the next morning at 10:08 a.m. Aug. 12. Approximately $200 worth of tools were stolen from the residence in the 400 block of Union Street.

Sexual assault

• A sexual assault was reported in the 100 block of Virginia Drive at about 4:14 p.m. Aug. 11. The case is under investigation.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 170 inmates, including 157 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 135 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
