Sirens: Gun brandished in drive-thru; man arrested after strangling; disorderly man strikes vehicle with stick; DUI arrests

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Assault

• Brandon A. Chafee, 55, of Centralia, was arrested in the 1300 block of North Pearl Street at approximately 8:30 a.m. on May 24 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree assault, domestic violence, after he allegedly violated a court-issued no-contact order and strangled the victim. Bail was set at $10,000 over the weekend.

• A 36-year-old Rochester woman was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence in the 1800 block of Harrison Avenue at 12:35 p.m. on May 24.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 9 a.m. on May 24.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of East First Street and North Tower Avenue just after 1:10 p.m. on May 24.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1500 block of South Gold Street just after 1:40 p.m. on May 25.

• A non-injury, three-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of West Main and North Pearl streets just after 1:55 p.m. on May 25.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of South Pearl and West Chestnut street at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 25.

• A minor, non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 900 block of North Pearl Street just before 10:55 a.m. on May 26.

 

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run to a parked vehicle on private property in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road was reported just before 6:40 p.m. on May 24.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A disorderly man was reportedly hitting a vehicle with a stick in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue just after 8:50 p.m. on May 24. He denied hitting any vehicles. Officers gave him a verbal warning for disorderly conduct.

• A disorderly man was reportedly yelling at customers outside a business in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just after 10:40 p.m. on May 24. He left the scene before officers arrived.

• A disorderly woman was reportedly yelling while walking down the street in the 1200 block of West Main Street just after 8:35 a.m. on May 26.

• A disorderly intoxicated man was reportedly bothering employees at a coffee stand in the 2300 block of North Pearl Street just after 2 p.m. on May 26. He moved along on his own.

• A 44-year-old homeless Packwood man was moved along for throwing things and screaming at no one in the 400 block of State Street just before 8:05 p.m. on May 26.

 

DUI



• A 24-year-old Rochester man was arrested at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues at 1:30 a.m. on May 25 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for DUI.

• A 27-year-old California man was arrested at the intersection of East Summa Street and Kresky Avenue at approximately 2:10 a.m. on May 25 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for DUI.

• Just after 5:25 p.m. on May 26, officers responded to a drinking establishment in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue for a report of a disorderly female who had been cut off.  As officers arrived, the woman was trying to drive away in her truck and ran over a curb. When officers contacted her, she was showing objective symptoms for being impaired and she resisted efforts to take her into custody for DUI.  The woman, 35, of Winlock, was arrested for DUI and resisting arrest.

 

Theft

• A garbage can was reported stolen from the 700 block of South Yew Street just after 8:10 a.m. on May 25.

• A bicycle was reported stolen from the 1400 block of Johnson Road just after midnight on May 27.

 

Criminal trespass

• A woman was trespassed from private property in the 1200 block of Alder Street just after 11:15 a.m. on May 25.

 

Unlawful weapon display

• Just before 3:10 p.m. on May 25, officers were dispatched to the report of a male in a gray Toyota pickup who pointed a firearm at a fast food employee in the drive-thru window of a business in the 100 block of West High Street.  The employee advised officers that the suspect male was yelling and angry at him because the male hit the drive-thru curb with his pickup.   This case is currently under investigation.

 

Malicious mischief

• Three suspects were reportedly throwing rocks at vehicles in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard just after 2:25 p.m. on May 27.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Friday morning and Monday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 60 illness-related calls, 17 injury-related calls, eight fire-related calls, seven non-emergency service calls, five vehicle accidents, one report of a dead body, one overdose, two suicide-related calls, two ambulance requests, one hazardous conditions report, one Lifeline medical alert, one found person report, one pregnancy-related call, one public assist request and six other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 16 inmates, including 10 booked by the Centralia Police Department, four booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Lummi Nation and one booked by the Tenino Police Department.
