Criminal trespass
• A homeless man from Winlock who was reportedly lying on the ground outside the doorway of a business in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue “wearing only jeans and a woman’s bra” was trespassed from the property at the business’s request at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 29.
• Officers issued a warning to subjects setting up tents on city property in the 700 block of South Tower Avenue at approximately 7:55 p.m. on Oct. 1.
• A Napavine resident was trespassed from a business in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue just before 8:35 p.m. on Oct. 1 for “disruptive behavior.”
• A “suspicious person” was reportedly trespassing on private property in the 1000 block of Centralia Avenue just after 7:35 p.m. on Oct. 1. The subject left the scene before officers arrived. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
Malicious mischief
• Just before 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 29, there was a report that someone drilled a hole in a vehicle’s gas tank and stole gas in the 500 block of West Main Street.
• A juvenile subject was referred to the prosecutor’s office on malicious mischief charges after they allegedly damaged property in the 1300 block of West Reynolds Avenue at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 1.
Theft
• A necklace was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 3000 block of Borst Avenue at 9:35 a.m. on Sept. 29.
• A theft that took place at a business in the 100 block of West High Street on Sept. 22 was reported at 10:25 a.m. on Sept. 29. The suspect was also allegedly involved in another theft at the store on Sept. 16. The case is under investigation.
• A male suspect reportedly shoplifted over $1,000 worth of merchandise from a store in the 2000 block of Haviland Street just after 11 a.m. on Sept. 29. The suspect reportedly fled the area in a vehicle driven by a female accomplice. The case is under investigation.
• Two subjects reportedly shoplifted grocery items from a store in the 300 block of West Reynolds Avenue at 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 30.
• Officers were dispatched to a grocery store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just after 9:15 p.m. on Sept. 30 after the store’s loss prevention personnel reported observing “an unknown female take a bite out of a donut, put it back, then leave the store without paying.” The suspect was not located.
• Just after 7:05 a.m. on Oct. 2, a silver 2006 Mercedes C280 with the Washington license plate AJC5703 was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue sometime overnight. The owner reportedly left it parked behind a business and found it missing the next morning.
Vehicle accidents
• A non-injury, non-blocking, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of northbound Interstate 5 and Mellen Street just after 1:10 p.m. on Sept. 29.
• A non-injury, partially-blocking, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and East Hanson Street just before 5:45 p.m. on Sept. 29.
• Two people were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a driver ran a red light at the intersection of North Pearl and West First streets and struck a second vehicle in the intersection just before 8:50 p.m. on Sept. 30.
DUI
• A 53-year-old Centralia woman was arrested at the intersection of South Gold Street and Exhibitor Road just after 6:50 p.m. on Sept. 29 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for driving under the influence.
• A 63-year-old Centralia man was arrested at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and West Sixth Street just after 12:35 a.m. on Sept. 30 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for driving under the influence.
• A 64-year-old Centralia man was arrested in the 600 block of North Washington Avenue just after 1:35 a.m. on Sept. 30 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for driving under the influence.
• Just before 4:05 p.m. on Sept. 30, there was a report of a possible drunk driver who hit a curb in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue and damaged his vehicle. While officers were en route, they were advised the registered owner of the vehicle was wanted by the Winlock Police Department for “several domestic violence-related crimes,” according to the Centralia Police Department. A Centralia officer and a Lewis County Sheriff’s deputy later located the vehicle and placed the driver, a 55-year-old Winlock man, under arrest. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail for the felony charges out of Winlock and for DUI. He was also cited for third-degree theft after he was identified via surveillance footage as a suspect who allegedly stole alcohol from a store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue in the early morning hours. That theft was reported just before 4:55 p.m. on Sept. 30.
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run was reported in a parking lot in the 100 block of West High Street just before 11:25 a.m. on Sept. 30.
Disorderly conduct
• A man “wearing jeans and no shirt” was reportedly “walking in a residential neighborhood and screaming at random houses” in the 1200 block of Ward Street at 10 a.m. on Sept. 20. Officers were unable to locate the man.
• A disorderly male subject was reportedly “cussing at people and getting in their face(s) at a local auto parts store” in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue just after 7:35 p.m. on Sept. 30. The subject left the scene before officers arrived.
Drug violations
• At 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 30, officers responded to a report of two or three male subjects using narcotics inside the restroom of a park in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue. Officers contacted two subjects, a 38-year-old Centralia man and a 34-year-old Centralia man, inside the park’s bathroom, where officers found narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were arrested for knowingly possessing fentanyl. During a search of the 38-year-old, officers found a wallet containing an ID, credit cards and other personal property. Both subjects were cited for possession of fentanyl, and the 38-year-old was additionally cited for second-degree possession of stolen property. Neither were booked into the Lewis County Jail due to jail booking restrictions, according to the Centralia Police Department. Both were trespassed from the park.
• A 43-year-old Centralia woman was cited for possession of fentanyl in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 11:10 p.m. on Sept. 30.
• A 32-year-old Winlock woman and a 29-year-old Chehalis woman were cited for possession of fentanyl after officers saw them “passed out in a parked vehicle with burnt foil and straws in their possession” in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 2:55 a.m. on Oct. 1. A search of the vehicle yielded fentanyl pills, according to the Centralia Police Department.
Illegal fire
• An illegal campfire was reported in a wooded area in the 900 block of East Locust Street at 12:45 p.m. on Sept. 30. A responding officer located an unattended “smoldering fire at a transient camp” and extinguished the fire.
Indecent exposure
• Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Tower Avenue just after 4:40 p.m. on Sept. 40 for a report of “a male that was reported to be naked from the waist down, running down the sidewalk.” Officers were unable to locate the male.
Assault
• A 44-year-old Onalaska man was cited for fourth-degree assault for allegedly “headbutting another male in the lip” in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 1.
• Officers responded to a report of a juvenile assaulting another juvenile in the 2000 block of Earl Street just after 7:55 p.m. on Oct. 1.
LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS
As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 159 inmates, including 146 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 116 were reported male, and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male, and two were reported female.
