Sirens: Indecent Exposure; Dog Versus Cat; 9-Year-Old Assaults Centralia School Staff Members

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Drug Violation

• A Renton man was cited for possession of a controlled substance in the 1600 block of West Reynolds Avenue at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Dec. 14.

 

Criminal Trespass

• A Colorado man was arrested in the 900 block of Ellsbury Street at 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 14 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree criminal trespassing after he allegedly refused to leave a local business.

• A Centralia man was cited for first-degree criminal trespassing after he allegedly entered a business he was trespassed from in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at 2:20 a.m. on Dec. 16.

 

Malicious Mischief

• Graffiti was reported on the back of a garage in the 1100 block of North Washington Avenue at 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 15.

 

Theft

• A Centralia resident was arrested in the 1300 block of Lum Road at 1:10 p.m. on Dec. 15 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for criminal impersonation, identity theft and third-degree theft after allegedly providing two false names to police while being arrested for shoplifting.

• A red 2017 Dodge truck with a black brush guard on the front and the Washington license plate C88326J was reported stolen from the 3200 block of Galvin Road just after 2:10 p.m. on Dec. 15. The vehicle’s owner had reportedly left the truck to grab something from inside and returned to find the truck gone.

 

Assault

• A 9-year-old reportedly assaulted two staff members at Oakview Elementary School, causing injuries to a leg and a head, just before 1:40 p.m. on Dec. 15. “Parents were called to come pick up the unruly child,” according to the Centralia Police Department.

• At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, a man reported being assaulted by an unknown male in the 800 block of South Gold Street a couple days earlier.

 

Vehicle Accidents

• One driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of West Cherry and South Pearl streets just after 12:05 p.m. on Dec. 15. One vehicle reportedly failed to yield right of way to an oncoming vehicle and was struck.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported on private property in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 15.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A vehicle vs. pedestrian hit-and-run collision was reported in the 600 block of North Gold Street just before 5:05 p.m. on Dec. 15. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries.

 

DUI

• James W. Bryant, 62, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence after he was involved in a non-injury, two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Pearl and West Sixth streets just before 8:25 p.m. on Dec. 15.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A package was reported stolen from the 700 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue just before 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 14.

 



Vehicle Accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard just after 4 p.m. on Dec. 14.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just before 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 14.

• A vehicle reportedly crashed into a ditch at the intersection of North National Avenue and Northeast Coal Creek Road at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Dec. 15. No injuries were reported.

 

Trespassed From Property

• A subject who was reportedly camping on a privately-owned vacant lot in the 100 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 14 was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for trespassing.

 

Death Investigation

• A death reported in the 2100 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue just after 4:10 a.m. on Dec. 15 is under investigation.

 

Threats

• Just after 8:05 a.m. on Dec. 15, school security at W.F. West High School reported a subject was “making physical threats towards students this morning while walking to school.”

 

Indecent Exposure

• Just after 10:20 p.m. on Dec. 15, an employee at a business in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported an indecent exposure that had occurred about three hours prior where a male in the bathroom was “standing there in front of the mirror masturbating with the door unlocked.” The male reportedly “smiled” at the reporting party as she closed the door.

 

Dog Versus Cat

• At approximately 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 15, a caller in the 200 block of Southwest James Street reported their neighbor’s “cat-hating” corgi had attempted to attack their cat.

 

Shooting Complaint

• An unidentified subject reportedly fired two gunshots at a residence in the 200 block of Southwest William Avenue just after 8 p.m. on Dec. 15.

 

Dispute

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 16.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 130 inmates, including 116 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 98 were reported male and 18 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
