Sirens: Jailed for criminal impersonation; air conditioner stolen; DUI arrest; report of assault ends in crash

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Heaven C. Wilcox, 25, of Benton City, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for criminal impersonation at about 8:51 a.m. June 30 in the 400 block of East Summa Street. Wilcox allegedly provided officers with a false name after being arrested for theft, according to a news release from the Centralia Police Department. The Tumwater Police Department reportedly assisted in fingerprinting Wilcox and getting positive identification.

 

Theft

• A window air conditioning unit was reported stolen at roughly 3:01 p.m. June 30 in the 1500 block of North Scheuber Road. The case is still under investigation.

 

Vehicular Assault

• Johanvictor S. Medina, 27, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for two counts of vehicular assault at around 6:03 p.m. on June 30. Officers responded to an assault involving Medina. Medina left the scene in his vehicle with two passengers prior to the officer's arrival, the Centralia Police Department stated in the release. Medina went off the roadway and rolled his vehicle in the 2700 block of North Pearl Street, causing both of his passengers to be transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Medina is being referred on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. 

Assault

• Charles R. Perkins, 70, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree malicious mischief and fourth-degree domestic violence and assault in the 300 block of Noel Avenue at around 10:58 p.m. June 30.

 

Driving Under Influence



• Jose F. Lopez, 28, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for driving under the influence in the 400 block of North Tower Avenue at about 3:22 a.m. July 1.

 

Hit-and-run                            

• A hit-and-run was reported at 2:31 p.m. July 1, in the 100 block of West High Street. This case is still under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A resident called and reported a hit-and-run in the 1600 block of South Gold Street at 4:16 p.m. July 1. The case is still under investigation.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Chehalis Police Department has not released its call reports this week. Look for updated information in an upcoming edition of The Chronicle and at chronline.com when the reports are made available.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 178 inmates, including 164 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 133 were reported male and 31 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.
