CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Theft
• An Xbox and other electronics were reported stolen from the 1300 block of Southwest Wilson Avenue at 9:35 a.m. on Feb. 7.
• A third-degree theft reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just after 8:05 p.m. on Feb. 8 is under investigation.
Vehicle accidents
• A non-injury collision was reported in the 10 block of Northeast Cascade Avenue just before 12:45 p.m. on Feb. 7.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 1:05 p.m. on Feb. 8.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 8.
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at approximately 2:25 p.m. on Feb. 7.
• A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of South Market Boulevard and Southwest 13th Street just after 6:50 p.m. on Feb. 7.
Assault
• An assault reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 is under investigation.
• A disorderly homeless man was arrested for third-degree assault in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just after 2:05 p.m. on Feb. 9.
Drug violation
• A subject was cited for a marijuana violation in the 2100 block of North National Avenue just after 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 7.
Sexual misconduct
• A case involving inappropriate communication with a minor that was reported in the 10 block of Southwest 11th Street just before 11:20 p.m. on Feb. 7 is under investigation.
Suspicious circumstances
• A man was reportedly knocking on the door to a residence in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street and “mumbling to himself” that “he needs help” at approximately 3:05 a.m. on Feb. 8. The man was advised “to go somewhere else.”
• A man was reportedly “trying to fight a branch” and “going to town punching the branch” in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and North National Avenue at 1:55 p.m. on Feb. 8.
• A woman was reportedly “screaming, flailing and thrashing her body” in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 9:25 p.m. on Feb. 8.
Welfare check
• A citizen requested a welfare check on a male who was “high as a kite” and could “barely walk” in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard just after 8:40 a.m. on Feb. 8.
Criminal trespass
• A woman who was “losing her mind” and throwing trash cans at a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 9:55 p.m. on Feb. 8 was trespassed from the business.
• A man with a dog was reportedly trespassing at a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 11:25 p.m. on Feb. 9. The man and dog left before officers arrived.
Dispute
• A verbal dispute between a male and a female inside a vehicle was reported at the intersection of Airport Road and Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:05 p.m. on Feb. 9. Both parties declined aid from an officer.
Fraud
• A guest at a hotel in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reportedly paid with a fake $100 bill when they checked in at approximately 11:25 p.m. on Feb. 9.
CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Theft
• A 36-year-old Olympia man was arrested for third-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute in the 1300 block of Lum Road at 11:50 p.m. on Feb. 7.
• A juvenile was arrested for shoplifting and for being a minor in possession of alcohol in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 4:25 p.m. on Feb. 7. He was also arrested on an outstanding Lewis County Superior Court warrant.
• A juvenile reportedly shoplifted from a business in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 8.
Vehicle prowl
• Property was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 1300 block of Kulien Avenue just after 9:40 a.m. on Feb. 8.
• Property was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 200 block of North Ash Street at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 8.
DUI
• A 29-year-old Centralia man was arrested for DUI after he was involved in a collision at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Denny Way just after 1:40 p.m. on Feb. 7.
• A 44-year-old Centralia man was arrested for DUI at the intersection of West Third and North Pearl streets at 10:10 p.m. on Feb. 8.
Criminal trespass
• A 36-year-old Centralia man was arrested for trespassing in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue at 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 7.
• A 51-year-old Rochester woman and a 47-year-old Palm Beach man were cited for first-degree criminal trespass in the 300 block of West Main Street just after 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 9.
Assault
• A juvenile was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence in the 600 block of South Gold Street just after 8:55 p.m. on Feb. 7.
Malicious mischief
• A 68-year-old Centralia man was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief after he allegedly broke the window of a residence in the 1100 block of Woodland Avenue with a lawn ornament just after 9:55 a.m. on Feb. 8.
Vehicle accident
• A juvenile male was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital for treatment of minor injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at the intersection of East Fourth and B streets just after 12:10 p.m. on Feb. 9. The juvenile had “quickly crossed the street in front of” the vehicle, according to the Centralia Police Department.
Recovered vehicle
• A stolen vehicle was found abandoned in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Alder Street just after 11 a.m. on Feb. 8.
Assault
• Kevin Gordon Jr., 27, of Chehalis, was arrested for second-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 300 block of South Diamond Street at 6:05 a.m. on Feb. 9. He had a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court scheduled for 4 p.m. on Feb. 10.
FIRE AND EMS CALLS
• Between Friday morning and Monday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 62 illness-related calls, 33 injury-related calls, nine fire-related calls, 10 non-emergency service calls, 10 vehicle accidents, five Lifeline medical alerts, one overdose, one department assist request, one 911-hangup call and four other calls.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 159 inmates, including 146 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 116 were reported male and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Monday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 22 inmates, including six booked by the Centralia Police Department, 13 booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Tulalip Tribe and two booked by the Lummi Nation.
