CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Disorderly conduct 

• A male was reportedly “swinging a stick on the railroad tracks” in the 100 block of Southwest William Avenue at 10:20 a.m. on Aug. 11. 

• A customer was reportedly destroying property inside a grocery store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 1:05 p.m. on Aug. 11. 

• A woman was reportedly being disorderly in the 600 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue at 11:40 p.m. on Aug. 12. 

• A male subject was reportedly “walking down the street (and) screaming obscenities” in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 12:10 a.m. on Aug. 15. 

 

Criminal trespass 

• A disorderly customer was trespassed from a business in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just before 10:40 a.m. on Aug. 12. 

• A homeless male was trespassed from a property in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 5:55 p.m. on Aug. 12. 

• Three people who were “leaving a big mess” by a “no trespassing” sign at the intersection of Southwest Riverside Drive and state Route 6 just after 6:30 p.m. were given a 48-hour warning to move along. 

• A male subject who was spray painting the inside of a car in the 1700 block of North National Avenue just before 7:25 p.m. on Aug. 12 was trespassed from the area. 

• Two subjects were reportedly trespassing on the railroad tracks in the 500 block of Northwest Front Street just after 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 12. 

• A possible case of trespassing was reported in the 400 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 8:55 p.m. on Aug. 12. 

• At approximately 9:55 a.m. on Aug. 12, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest William Avenue reported there were “homeless people hanging out in the backyard and (the reporting party) doesn’t like it.” The caller stated “he has kids and advised they shouldn’t be there.” 

• A subject was trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at 7:25 p.m. on Aug. 13. 

• A subject who was “cursing, yelling (and) threw a bike rack around” outside a business in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard was trespassed from the business just after 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 13. 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just after 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 14. 

• A case of trespassing reported in the 10 block of Northeast Washington Avenue just before 9 a.m. on Aug. 15 is under investigation. 

• A case of trespassing reported in the 10 block of Northeast Hampe Way just after 10:45 a.m. on Aug. 15 is under investigation.

• Two subjects were trespassed from property in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 11:40 a.m. on Aug. 15. 

 

Dogs in cars 

• A dog was reportedly left inside a car in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 11. The owner arrived and drove away at noon, according to the Chehalis Police Department. 

• A dog was reportedly inside a car with the windows cracked in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 12. 

• A dog was reportedly in distress inside a vehicle with the window cracked in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 10:35 a.m. on Aug. 13. The reporting party advised they spoke with the owner and said “the owner isn’t going to do anything.” 

• A dog was reportedly left inside a car in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 13. 

• Just before 5 p.m. on Aug. 15, a caller reported an ongoing issue of an employee at a business in the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard leaving a “little puppy” in his vehicle when he’s at work. The caller advised the employee “leaves the windows open but it’s too hot” and advised “the dog has been getting sick.” 

 

Malicious mischief 

• Damage to a gate in the 600 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue was reported at 12:50 p.m. on Aug. 11. The reporting party stated it “looks like someone has removed bolts trying to remove the lock off the gate sometime last night,” according to the Chehalis Police Department.

 

Sexual misconduct 

• A subject was arrested in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street at 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 11 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged sexual misconduct involving a child. 

• A subject was cited for sexual misconduct in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 11. 

 

Theft 

• A possible vehicle theft was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 6:35 p.m. on Aug. 11. 

• A case of theft reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 14 is under investigation. 

• A ladder was reported stolen from the 600 block of Northwest Arkansas Way at 3 p.m. on Aug. 15. 

 

Assault 

• A male subject was cited for second-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 300 block of Southwest William Avenue at 7:35 p.m. on Aug. 11. Charges against the subject had not been filed in Lewis County Superior Court as of Tuesday morning. 

 

Burglary 

• A case of first-degree burglary reported in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:10 a.m. on Aug. 12 is under investigation. 

 

Suspicious circumstances 

• Just before 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 11, a caller in the 200 block of Southwest 14th Street reported someone “threatened to shoot any gay person around” during a live stream. The subject was allegedly holding a pistol of some sort during the live stream. 

• A case involving a suspicious vehicle was reported in the 1500 block of Rice Road at 4:45 a.m. on Aug. 12.

• A damaged safe was reportedly found in a dumpster in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 12. 

• Just after 7:10 p.m. on Aug. 12, a representative of a business in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported a male had been in the bathroom for the past two hours. 

• An air unit in the 900 block of Northwest Airport road reportedly advised Chehalis law enforcement of a green laser on the west side of Chehalis at 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 12. 

• At approximately 1 p.m. on Aug. 14, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reported “she received a hamburger that tasted like toothpaste” and said she believed the employees at the business where she got the hamburger “are conspiring against her.” 



• A male subject was reportedly “digging through the trash” and “being a nuisance” in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at approximately 6:35 p.m. on Aug. 14. 

 

Intoxicated person 

• Medical aid was dispatched to the 500 block of South Market Boulevard just after 2:10 p.m. on Aug. 12 after a possibly intoxicated person reportedly fell and hit their head on the concrete. 

 

Disputes 

• A possible physical dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Ninth Street just after 6:45 p.m. on Aug. 12. 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue at 5:50 p.m. on Aug. 13. 

• A physical dispute was reported in the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard just after 8:40 a.m. on Aug. 14. 

• A disturbance/dispute reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 6:55 a.m. on Aug. 15 is under investigation. 

• A disturbance/dispute reported in the 400 block of Southwest 18th Street just before 6:05 p.m. on Aug. 15 is under investigation. 

 

Harassment 

• A case of harassment was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 12:10 p.m. on Aug. 13. 

• A case of harassment was reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 15. 

 

Hit-and-run 

• A hit-and-run reported in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just before 2:10 a.m. on Aug. 14 is under investigation. 

• At 6:10 a.m. on Aug. 14, a hit-and-run that occurred at the intersection of Northwest Prindle Street and Northwest Chehalis Avenue was reported. 

 

Vehicle accident 

• An elderly man was injured in a vehicle accident reported in the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 1:50 p.m. on Aug. 15. The Chehalis Police Department did not disclose information about the man’s injuries. 

 

Reckless burning 

• A subject was cited for second-degree reckless burning after a fire was reported underneath a bridge in the 2500 block of North National Avenue just before 8 p.m. on Aug. 15. 

 

Shooting complaint 

• At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 15, a caller reported hearing “loud and rapid” gunshots in the 900 block of Northwest Folsom Street. 

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Hit-and-run 

• Hit-and-run charges against two Centralia men were referred to a local prosecutor’s office after a vehicle they were towing collided with a building in the 400 block of West Summa Street at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 14. The two suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot. One of the men reportedly returned to the scene while law enforcement were looking for him in the surrounding area. 

 

Obstruction 

• A 33-year-old Bremerton man was arrested in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 11:20 a.m. on Aug. 14 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding Department of Corrections warrant. He was additionally cited for obstructing a public servant “since he was not compliant while being taken into custody,” according to the Centralia Police Department. 

 

Criminal trespass 

• A homeless woman was trespassed from a business in the 600 block of South Pearl Street at 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 14 after video surveillance footage confirmed she had dumped out garbage cans in the business’s parking lot. 

• A man was trespassed from a property in the 1700 block of North Tower Avenue at approximately 12:25 p.m. on Aug. 14. 

• A homeless man suspected of previously stealing from a  business in the 300 block of West Reynolds Avenue was trespassed from the business just after 3:25 p.m. on Aug. 14. 

• An Oregon woman was cited for trespassing in the 100 block of North Gold Street just before 10:05 p.m. on Aug. 15. 

• A homeless man who was reportedly found rummaging through a trash bin at a business in the 1220 block of Mellen Street was trespassed from the business just before 5:10 a.m. on Aug. 15. 

• A group of homeless people was trespassed from a former bank property in the 100 block of South Pearl Street just after 7:20 a.m. on Aug. 15 after they were found in one of the business’s alcoves. 

 

Theft 

• A backpack containing some personal property was reported stolen from the 400 block of West Main Street just after 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 14. The victim reportedly set the backpack down outside a building and returned a short time later to find it missing. 

 

Vehicle accident

• A semi-truck and trailer reportedly collided with a passenger car while trying to make a turn from northbound Interstate 5 onto Harrison Avenue at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Aug. 14. The car received damage to the front left fender. No injuries were reported. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 161 inmates, including 147 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 115 were reported male and 32 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
