CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Theft
• A 49-year-old Randle woman and a 52-year-old Glenoma woman were arrested for stealing items from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. on April 24.
• A 62-year-old Olympia man was arrested for stealing items from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 6:35 p.m. on April 24.
• A purse was reported stolen from an employee-only area at a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 7:45 p.m. on April 25.
• A 36-year-old Shelton woman was cited for attempting to steal over $440 of grocery, cosmetic and floral items in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 11:35 a.m. on April 27. She was also cited for possession of fentanyl.
• Two male suspects allegedly stole several pairs of shoes from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road at approximately 5 p.m. on April 27.
Assault
• Someone reported they had been punched several times in the 200 block of North Tower Avenue just after 7:35 p.m. on April 24. The case is under investigation.
• A juvenile was referred on fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, charges in the 2900 block of Mt. Vista Road at 11:35 a.m. on April 25.
Indecent exposure
• Ronald J. Jennings, 44, was arrested in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just before 9:35 p.m. on April 24 for felony indecent exposure and second-degree criminal trespass after he was reportedly seen masturbating at a gas station he was trespassed from. He was charged in Lewis County Superior Court on April 25. Bail is set at $10,000. Arraignment is scheduled for May 1.
Drug violations
• A 40-year-old Montesano woman was cited for driving on a suspended license, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also issued a summons for an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant.
• A 25-year-old Centralia man was cited for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia after he was found sleeping on private property in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue just before 8:05 a.m. on April 26.
• A 40-year-old Chehalis woman and a 26-year-old Olympia man were cited for possession of narcotics in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 12:05 p.m. on April 27.
Burglary
• A 46-year-old California man was arrested for second-degree burglary just after 11:25 p.m. on April 25 after he allegedly entered through the window of a business in the 1400 block of Reynolds Avenue during non-business hours and stole food from the kitchen area. The man was identified through security footage.
Criminal trespass
• A 28-year-old Centralia man was arrested for trespassing in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at approximately 1:10 a.m. on April 26.
• An Olympia woman was trespassed from private property in the 900 block of Plum Street at 2:10 p.m. on April 26.
• A 30-year-old Lakewood man was arrested for trespassing in the 100 block of South Silver Street at 3:35 p.m. on April 26.
• A Centralia resident was trespassed from private property in the 100 block of South Silver Street at 9:25 a.m. on April 27.
Criminal impersonation
• A 24-year-old Centralia man was arrested for criminal impersonation after he allegedly lied about his name to officers who contacted him for sleeping in a city park in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue at 10:35 a.m. on April 26.
Vehicle accidents
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1000 block of Kresky Avenue just after 1:20 p.m. on April 26.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 3:40 p.m. on April 26.
Obstructing
• A 50-year-old Centralia man was arrested for failure to obey a law enforcement officer and obstructing a law enforcement officer in the 1400 block of Johnson Road just after 8:40 p.m. on April 26.
Fraud
• Three women were arrested for forgery in the 1000 block of South Yew Street just after 10:10 p.m. on April 26 after they allegedly deposited money into a coin machine and turned in a fake receipt for a much greater amount. A fourth suspect was outstanding as of Sunday morning.
Malicious mischief
• A 48-year-old Tacoma resident was cited for third-degree malicious mischief after they allegedly broke an iPad in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 5:40 p.m. on April 27.
• Tires on a vehicle were slashed in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road at 5:55 a.m. on April 28. The case is under investigation.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Burglary
• A burglary or theft reported in the 200 block of Northeast Hillside Drive just before 1:30 p.m. on April 26 is under investigation.
• A second-degree burglary reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at 4:25 p.m. on April 26 is under investigation.
Theft
• A 25-year-old Benton City woman was arrested for stealing mouthwash, a comb and other items from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 8 a.m. on April 27.
• A man reportedly stole two cases of alcohol from a business in the 100 block of Southwest Intersate Avenue just before 10:55 p.m. on April 27.
Criminal trespass
• A 36-year-old Chehalis man was cited for trespassing in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 1:25 a.m. on April 27 after he reportedly returned to the property after being told to leave for being disorderly and drinking beer in the property’s parking lot.
FIRE AND EMS CALLS
• Between Friday morning and Monday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 57 illness-related calls, 22 injury-related calls, 17 fire-related calls, two non-emergency service calls, five vehicle accidents, one report of a dead body, one suicide-related call, one Lifeline medical alert, one medical helicopter request, one ambulance request and eight other calls.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 157 inmates, including 144 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 117 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 17 inmates, including eight booked by the Centralia Police Department, three booked by the state Department of Corrections, three booked by the La Push Quileute Nation, one booked by the City of McCleary, one booked by the City of Winlock and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
