Sirens: Man sentenced for drowning puppies; arrest for alleged felony telephonic harassment; jail statistics

LEWIS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

Sentencings

• Jennifer L. Robinson, 40, Chehalis, was sentenced April 1 to 364 days in jail with 361 days suspended for two years and three days of credit for time served after pleading guilty to single counts of disorderly conduct (domestic violence) and obstructing a law enforcement officer, according to court documents. An additional count of fourth-degree assault was dropped. Robinson cannot commit any new criminal law violations as part of her sentence. The court entered a five-year domestic violence no-contact order on behalf of the victim. Robinson originally faced one count each of first-degree theft (domestic violence), second-degree theft and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence). • Robert P. Werth, 59, Packwood, was sentenced April 1 to 20 days of partial confinement after pleading guilty to five counts of first-degree animal cruelty. Five additional counts were dismissed on the state’s motion, according to court documents. Werth was originally accused — along with a friend — of conspiring to drown the friend’s 10 puppies. • Austin W. Jensen, 31, Centralia, was sentenced April 1 to 12.75 months in prison and 12.75 months of community custody as part of a prison-based drug offender sentencing alternative (DOSA) after pleading guilty to one count each of second-degree possessing stolen property, third-degree theft and third-degree possessing stolen property, according to court records. CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Elian Ramirez-Corona, 18, Centralia, was arrested after an alleged physical altercation with his girlfriend in the 2600 block of Cooks Hill Road at about 10:23 a.m. April 2. During the course of the altercation, Ramirez-Corona allegedly damaged a computer.

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run collision was reported near Harrison Avenue and northbound Interstate 5 at about 5:40 p.m. April 1.

• Police investigated a hit-and-run collision in the 1300 block of South Gold Street at about 4:48 p.m. April 2.

Criminal trespass

• Caliope S. Dicus, 41, and Milo R. Gordanier, 60, both of Centralia, were arrested for alleged trespassing in the 800 block of South Gold Street at about 12:22 p.m. April 2.

Theft



• Headphones were reported stolen in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue at about 2:47 p.m. April 2. The case is under investigation.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Nathan D. Edson was booked on two counts of alleged felony telephonic harassment in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 7:20 p.m. April 2.

Order violation

• Police referred William M. Hamilton to the city prosecutor for one count of alleged violation of a no-contact order in the 200 block of Northeast Cascade Avenue at about 5:10 p.m. March 31.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of April 3, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 157 inmates, including 144 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 124 were reported male and 20 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of April 3, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 15 inmates. Of those, 11 were from Centralia, one was from Elma, two were from the Department of Corrections and one was from the Quileute Nation.
