Sirens: Man sentenced for impersonating doctor; garage door window shot out; truck rear-ends car at ATM; counterfeit money reported

LEWIS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

Sentencings

• Robert Lewis Walters, 65, Olympia, was sentenced to 30 days of electronic home monitoring and one day of credit for time served Nov. 5 after pleading guilty to one count each of first-degree criminal impersonation and forgery. CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Anthony B. Paich, Centralia, was arrested and charged with second-degree malicious mischief and driving under the influence in the 800 block of Southwest 19th Street at about 1:27 a.m. Nov. 5 after the reporting party advised that someone had shot out his garage door window.

Accidents

• A caller advised of a collision in the 1500 block of South Market Boulevard at about 9:33 p.m. Nov. 4. According to the caller, a truck rear-ended a car in front of an ATM. The truck allegedly drove away, as did the car some time later — though its taillights were reportedly “busted up.”

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 12:02 p.m. Nov. 5.

Counterfeiting

• A reporting party advised that a male had just brought in a counterfeit $100 bill before leaving the building in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 3:47 p.m. Nov. 5.

Criminal trespassing

• Gregorio Cordero, Centralia, was issued a citation for second-degree criminal trespassing in the 600 block of West Main Street at about 2:46 p.m. Nov. 4 after the reporting party alleged that a man was on the train tracks with his pants down.

• A report was made of a homeless camp being set up behind a wastewater facility in the 600 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at about 9:35 a.m. Nov. 5.



Theft

• Arin Engle was issued a criminal citation for third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 10:09 a.m. Nov. 5 for alleged shoplifting.

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Kelly L. McLaughlin, 46, Hoquiam, was arrested in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 2:15 p.m. Nov. 5 after allegedly stealing items from a local store and assaulting a loss prevention officer after being confronted.

Assault

• Officers investigated a possible assault in the 1500 block of Lewis Street at about 12:31 p.m. Nov. 5.

Theft

• Theft of a padlock by juveniles was reported in the 500 block of Centralia College Boulevard at about 11:01 a.m. Nov. 5.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Nov. 6, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 166 inmates, including 153 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 122 were reported male and 31 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Nov. 7, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 24 inmates. Of those, eight were from the Department of Corrections and six were from Centralia. Additionally, there were three inmates from the Lummi Nation, two from the Quileute Nation, two from the Tulalip Tribe and one each from the Suquamish, Skokomish and Shoalwater Bay Tribes.
