Sirens: Masked Suspect Assault; Slashed Tires; Robbery; Animal Abuse; Disorderly Conduct

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Assault 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 300 block of Yew Street just after 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 3 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault. 

• Just before 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, an assault where an “unknown person wearing a full face mask pushed a person to the ground” in the 2800 block of Russell Road was reported. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1700 block of North Pearl Street just before 10 p.m. on Feb. 3. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Vehicle tires were reportedly slashed in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just before 11:20 p.m. on Feb. 3. 

 

Robbery 

• A Centralia man was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with a significant other in the 400 block of West Main Street just after 12:25 a.m. on Feb. 4. During the altercation, the man allegedly stole the victim’s phone and refused to allow them to exit a vehicle. The Centralia Police Department has established probable cause to arrest the man, but he had not been arrested as of Monday afternoon. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Trespassed From Property 

• A male subject who reportedly had a knife was trespassed from a business in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 7:50 a.m. on Feb. 3. 

• Three disorderly juvenile boys were trespassed from a property in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just after 5:35 p.m. on Feb. 4. 

 

Vicious Dogs 

• Just after 10:55 a.m. on Feb. 3, a subject in the 300 block of Southwest Ninth Streetreported that his neighbor’s husky attacked his livestock earlier that morning. 

• A case involving a vicious dog that was reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just after 1 p.m. on Feb. 4 is under investigation. 

 



Animal Negligence/Abuse 

• At 1:40 p.m. on Feb. 3, a caller reported a purple Dodge minivan had dropped a crate containing three cats in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of Southwest Kelly Avenue and Southwest 16th Street just after 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 3. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• At 9:40 a.m. on Feb. 5, a caller reported a vehicle accident that occurred in the 900 block of Northwest Airport Way on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The caller stated the other driver had agreed to pay the reporting party for damages, but was now refusing to pay. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 500 block of Southwest Parkland Drive at approximately 10:10 a.m. on Feb. 5. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:05 p.m. on Feb. 5. 

 

Disorderly Conduct  

• A customer was reportedly “yelling in employees’ faces” at a business in the 100 block of Sturdevant Road at 3:10 p.m. on Feb. 3. 

• A woman was reportedly walking in and out of traffic at the intersection of Southwest State Avenue and West Main Street at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Feb. 4. 

 

Theft 

• Just before 11:35 a.m. on Feb. 4, a camera was reported stolen from the 100 block of Southwest William Avenue sometime overnight. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 158 inmates, including 145 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 111 were reported male and 34 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
