Sirens: Minors in possession; man passed out in driver's seat gets DUI; scammer pretends to be officer

Chehalis Police Department

Tool bag stolen

• A tool bag was reported stolen from a porch in the 1100 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue at about 9:26 a.m. Jan. 3. The victim said a man was caught on video taking the bag.

Theft citation

• Priscilla J. Vance, 47, of Chehalis, was issued a criminal citation for third-degree theft at about 5:07 p.m. Jan. 3 in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Crash

• A crash was reported at about 5:50 a.m. Jan. 5 at the intersection of Interstate Avenue and Bishop Road. The cab of a vehicle was fine, but a trailer was twisted and flipped over. No medical aid was needed.

Centralia Police Department

Burglary

• An order violation and possible attempted burglary was reported at about 2:35 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 1100 block of H Street. This case is under investigation.

• A storage shed was damaged and possibly broken into, according to a report at 10:50 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 900 block of Johnson Road. This case is under investigation.

Arrests

• Brock R. Williams, 35, of Bremerton, was arrested and booked for DUI, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 12:25 a.m. Jan. 6 at the intersection of West Second Street and H Street. Williams was located in the middle of the road, passed out behind the wheel, according to police. Officers observed drug-related items in the vehicle and later collected the items for evidence.

• Razeon O. Andrews, 20, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding Thurston County District Court warrant at about 1:13 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 1300 block of Lum Road. Andrews was also issued a criminal citation for third-degree driving with a suspended license.

• Algwen Perkins, 52, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly violating a no-contact order at about 4:45 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 1300 block of Johnson Road.

• German Gomez Portillo, 25, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for allegedly violating a no-contact order at about 6:41 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 200 block of South Diamond Street.

Fraud and scam

• Potential fraud was reported at about 2:27 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 200 block of North Washington Avenue.A subject sent money to an online dog breeder and received no response to inquiries after the money was sent. This case is under investigation.

• A subject received a call from someone impersonating a police officer, according to a report at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 600 block of Ham Hill Road. The “officer” told the person that they had a warrant for their arrest. This type of scam is common, and the caller usually asks for payment to settle the arrest warrant. In this case, no money was lost.

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run collision was reported at about 7 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 600 block of West Main Street. No information on the suspect was available.

Minor in possession

• Antonio Vega, 18, of Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for minor in possession of alcohol or marijuana at about 1:03 a.m. Jan. 7 in the 1200 block of Lum Road. A juvenile female was referred to the Lewis County Juvenile Court for the same citation.

Order violation



• A violation of a court order was reported at about 7:39 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 1100 block of West High Street. The case is under investigation.

Nuisance citation

• Bob Maase, 55, of Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for alleged violation of Centralia Municipal Code (possessing/consuming alcohol in public) at about 11:18 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 1100 block of View Avenue.

Sleeping in a doorway

• A transient from Everett was trespassed from a business after being found sleeping in front of the doors at about 10:34 a.m. Jan. 5 in the 1200 block of Lum Road.

Graffiti

• Graffiti was reported on a building in the 200 block of North Washington Avenue at about 11 a.m. Jan. 5.

Animals at large

• Deborah A. Hayes, 69, of Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for animals at large at about 1:16 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue.

Pistol found in vehicle

• Officers are investigating the crime of unlawful possession of a firearm after locating a pistol in a vehicle in the 100 block of West High Street at about 4:41 p.m. Jan. 5.  This case is still under active investigation.

Flock camera arrest

• Steve G. Ward, 49, of Rochester, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for a Department of Corrections warrant at about 6:07 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue. Officers received a Flock camera notification on Ward’s car, advising them of his DOC warrant. Officers located the vehicle and contacted Ward. Ward allegedly ran from officers and resisted arrest. Ward was also booked for resisting and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Slashed tires

• A victim reported their vehicle tires were slashed at about 7:46 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 400 block of North Diamond Street. The case is still under investigation.

Beer stolen

• The theft of beer was reported from a store in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue at about 9:20 p.m. Jan. 5.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Jan. 7, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 179 inmates, including 166 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 136 were reported male and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Jan. 5, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 19 inmates. Of those, six were from Centralia, one was from Chehalis, one was from Elma and eight were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there was one inmate from the Quileute Nation, one from the Tulalip Tribe and one from the Suquamish Tribe.
