Sirens: Money stolen from local business; arrests for hit-and-run, drugs, assault in Chehalis; fraud reported

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests and citations

• Mark R. Dugger, 61, was issued a criminal citation for one count of alleged hit-and-run unattended in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard at about 8:45 p.m. July 28.

• Benjamin D. Huntley, 59, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for an active warrant and referred for one count each of alleged possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance in the 300 block of Northwest North Street at about 1:50 p.m. July 29.

• Alex M. Folden, 32, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for one count of alleged fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) in the 700 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue at about 4:25 p.m. July 29. Folden was also referred for one count of alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Assault

• Mark W. Powell, 54, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at about 3:28 a.m. July 30.

Criminal trespass

• Don K. Gonzales, 37, Centralia, was arrested and released with a citation for alleged second-degree criminal trespass in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at about 4:46 a.m. July 30.

Fraud

• Fraud was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 3:21 p.m. July 29. The case is under investigation.



Possession of controlled substances

• Jerry L. Albaugh, 60, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license in the 300 block of South Street at about 2:14 p.m. July 29.

• Sean Gordon Klatush, 43, Aberdeen, was arrested after police allegedly found him in possession of fentanyl and the paraphernalia used to ingest it while sleeping in his vehicle in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at about 6:06 p.m. July 30. Klatush was issued a citation and court date before being released.

Theft

• Police investigated the theft of money from a local business in the 100 block of West High Street at about 10:07 a.m. July 30. 

• Geraldine Lynn Taylor, 61, Olympia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail after she allegedly attempted to shoplift an item in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 8:50 p.m. July 30.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of July 31, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 146 inmates, including 133 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 105 were reported male and 28 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of July 31, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 20 inmates. Of those, three were from Centralia and nine were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were three from the Lummi Nation and one each from the Quileute Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe, the Skokomish Tribe, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Chehalis Tribe.
