Sirens: Montana women arrested for assault; burglars vandalize home; disorderly man booked into jail

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Disorderly conduct

• Two intoxicated subjects were reportedly acting disorderly and jumping in and out of traffic at the intersection of South Gold and East Van Buren streets just after 10:40 a.m. on July 29. One subject, a 44-year-old homeless Centralia man, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for disorderly conduct.

 

Criminal trespass

• At approximately 4:55 p.m. on July 29, a homeless Centralia woman reportedly stole ornamental flowers from a flower bed on business property she was trespassed from in the 1000 block of West Main Street.

 

Theft

• Three juveniles reportedly stole bicycles from a residence in the 100 block of North Saxon Street at 10:30 p.m. on July 29. The case is under investigation.

• A 55-year-old homeless Longview man was arrested for stealing beer from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 11:50 a.m. on July 30. He allegedly “became belligerent” and threatened officers during his arrest. He was medically cleared before he was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail.

 

Vehicle accident

• A minor, non-injury collision was reported on private property at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues just after 3:15 p.m. on July 30.

DUI

• A 39-year-old Centralia man was arrested for DUI in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at 1:25 a.m. on July 30.

 

Assault

• Three women were reportedly involved in a physical dispute outside of a tavern in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue just after 11:40 p.m. on July 30. A 22-year-old Montana woman and a 30-year-old Montana woman were arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for fourth-degree assault. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Downed power line

• A downed power line was reported at the intersection of Southwest 18th Street and South Market Boulevard just after 9:30 a.m. on July 30. Lewis County PUD responded and confirmed the wire was not live and was safe to drive over.

 

Theft

• The bottom passenger side grill of a 2016 Mazda was reported stolen from the 100 block of Northeast School Street just after 11:30 a.m. on July 30.

 



Criminal trespass

• A business in the 1500 block of North National Avenue asked officers to trespass a homeless man who appeared to be intoxicated at 11:55 a.m. on July 30.

• A tent with “trash and biological matter” surrounding it was reported in the 100 block of Southwest State Avenue just after 3:50 p.m. on July 30.

• Two possible vehicle prowlers were reported in the 600 block of Northeast Franklin Avenue just after 10:05 p.m. on July 30. The subjects said “they were looking for a cat.”

 

Green Hill School

• Contraband was reported at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street at 3:05 p.m. on July 30.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• ”Suspicious activity” reported in the 10 block of Southwest Fourth Street just before 3:30 p.m. on July 30 is under investigation.

• A woman was reportedly screaming and crying in the 300 block of Southwest 14th Street just before 11:40 p.m. on July 30. An officer confirmed the woman’s dogs had gotten loose and she was chasing them.

 

Vehicle accident

• A single-vehicle collision with reported injuries that occurred at the intersection of Southwest Circle Place and South Market Boulevard at 8:25 p.m. on July 30 is under investigation.

 

Burglary

• At approximately 10:35 p.m. on July 30, a citizen reported a house being remodeled in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street had been broken into. A window had been broken and the intruders reportedly “crunched cookies all over the place and spread soap everywhere, tried plugging up the toilets and possibly broke a cabinet.”

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 38 illness-related calls, 10 injury-related calls, nine fire-related calls, six non-emergency service calls, four vehicle accidents, three overdoses, one medical helicopter request and three other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 139 inmates, including 126 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 96 were reported male and 30 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 13 inmates, including eight booked by the Centralia Police Department, four booked by the state Department of Corrections and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
