Sirens: Narcotics located after woman passes out in vehicle; counterfeit $100 bills reported; arrest made after officers kicked; children left alone in vehicle

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Drug violations

• A 43-year-old Centralia resident was cited for possession of a controlled substance in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 7:35 a.m. on April 4.

• Officers contacted a female who appeared to be “nodded out” and appeared to have drug paraphernalia in her immediate proximity in a vehicle in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 7:50 p.m. on April 6. A search warrant into the vehicle revealed small quantities of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The female is being referred for charging, according to the Centralia Police Department.

 

Fraud

• Counterfeit $100 bills were reported in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at 12 p.m. on April 4. The case is under investigation.

• An online scam involving a victim paying for a laptop she never received was reported in the 900 block of G Street just after 5:15 p.m. on April 4.

 

Theft

• Money was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just before 1:50 p.m. on April 4. The case is under investigation.

• Merchandise was reported stolen from a store in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue at 11:25 p.m. on April 6. The case is under investigation.

• Merchandise was reported stolen from a store in the 300 block of Reynolds Avenue just after 3:30 p.m. on April 6. The case is under investigation.

 

Assault

• A 26-year-old Portland resident was arrested for kicking two officers in the 100 block of South Pearl Street after the officers contacted them for trespassing just after 1 p.m. on April 5.

• A 21-year-old Lacey resident was arrested in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road at approximately 10:50 p.m. on April 5 for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence.

 

Burglary

•  A burglary to a business in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue reported at 1:55 p.m. on April 5 is under investigation.

 

Harassment

• A 43-year-old Centralia woman was arrested for felony harassment, domestic violence, in the 1000 block of Centralia Avenue just before 2:15 p.m. on April 5.

 

DUI

• A 40-year-old Chehalis woman was arrested for DUI and third-degree driving with a suspended license at the intersection of North Pearl and West Center streets at 10:50 p.m. on April 5.

 

Malicious mischief

• Two juveniles reportedly spray painted a garbage can in the 1000 block of North Tower Avenue just after 11 a.m. on April 6. The case is under investigation.

• A 40-year-old Bucoda woman was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence, after she reportedly damaged a vehicle in the 100 block of West Maple Street just after 7:30 p.m. on April 6.

 

Vehicle accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 500 block of South Tower Street just after 12:30 p.m. on April 6.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Fraud

• A scam was reported in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court at 9:05 a.m. on April 4.

 

Disputes

• A verbal dispute involving a man yelling at his girlfriend, throwing her belongings and threatening to urinate on them was reported in the 100 block of Southeast Sixth Street just after 9:40 a.m. on April 4.

• A man reported his ex-girlfriend was outside his house and throwing objects at his window in the 100 block of Southwest Alfred Street just after 11:45 a.m. on April 4.

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street at approximately 8:20 p.m. on April 4.

• A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Ninth street just before 11:40 p.m. on April 4.

• A “family disturbance/dispute” reported in the 10 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue at 3:35 p.m. on April 5 is under investigation.



 

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 11:10 a.m. on April 4.

• Just after 1:40 p.m. on April 4, a non-injury, two-vehicle collision that occurred in the 1500 block of South Market Boulevard an hour prior was reported.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 800 block of state Route 6 just after 3:30 p.m. on April 4.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Southwest Sixth Street and South Market Boulevard just before 5 p.m. on April 4.

• A vehicle accident reported in the 600 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 1:35 p.m. on April 5 is under investigation.

 

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run reported in the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:35 p.m. on April 5 is under investigation.

 

Criminal trespass

• A man was reportedly trespassing in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 1:25 p.m. on April 4.

• At approximately 6:15 p.m. on April 6, a subject reported that a motorhome had been left in a parking lot in the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard for over two days.

• A homeless man was moved along in the 600 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 5:20 a.m. on April 7.

 

Theft

• A theft reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street at 2:20 p.m. on April 4 is under investigation.

• A cart was reported stolen from a store in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 8:30 p.m. on April 4.

 

Assault

• A woman was arrested for hitting someone in the face with a brush in the 100 block of Southeast Sixth Street at 4:45 p.m. on April 4.

• A physical dispute between two men was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 1:30 p.m. on April 5.

 

Unattended children

• Three children were reportedly left alone in a vehicle in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 8:05 p.m. on April 4. An officer confirmed the children were not in distress. A woman returned to the vehicle shortly after the reporting party called the police.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A man was reportedly yelling at people in the street near the intersection of North Market Boulevard and Northwest Park Street just before 1:05 p.m. on April 5.

 

Suspicious circumstances 

• The smell of “rotting garbage” was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just before 1:30 p.m. on April 5. 

• A woman reported suspects were landing a drone with a baby monitor on the roof of her residence in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 9:35 a.m. on April 6. The woman reported the suspects “have her cats and (are) trying to control her,” according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• A subject reported a man was walking around a garage at the intersection of Northwest West Street and Northwest Rhode Island Place and threatening to kill him just after 7:20 p.m. on April 6.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Friday morning and Monday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 49 illness-related calls, 24 injury-related calls, 17 fire-related calls, two Lifeline medical alerts, eight non-emergency service calls, three vehicle accidents, one medical helicopter request, two overdoses and three other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 141 inmates, including 128 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 99 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Monday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 16 inmates, including seven booked by the Centralia Police Department, six booked by the state Department of Corrections, two booked by the La Push Quileute Nation and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
