Sirens: Police, firefighters help child off roof; stolen motorcycle found 'in pieces'; wiring stolen from work site; Lewis County Superior Court proceedings

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Criminal trespass

• A trespass at a business in the 1200 block of Alder Street reported at 11:20 a.m. on May 14 is under investigation.

 

Theft

• EBT fraud reported in the 1300 block of Logan Street just after 3:05 p.m. on May 14 is under investigation.

• A 52-year-old Chehalis man and a 46-year-old Chehalis woman were arrested for shoplifting in the 1000 block of South Yew Street just before 6:10 p.m. on May 14. A juvenile was also referred on theft charges.

• A vape pen worth $37.93 was reported stolen from a service station in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue just after 9:50 p.m. on May 15.

 

Juvenile problem

• Centralia police officers helped the Riverside Fire Authority get a juvenile down from the roof of a building in the 1300 block of Reynolds Avenue just after 3:10 p.m. on May 14.

 

Recovered vehicle

• A motorcycle that was stolen out of Thurston County was recovered “in pieces” in the 1700 block of Harrison Avenue just after 4:25 p.m. on May 14.

 

Burglary

• Wiring was reported damaged or stolen from a construction site in the 1300 block of Kresky Avenue just after 12:50 p.m. on May 15. The incident reportedly occurred sometime overnight.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A third-degree theft reported in the 700 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 8:20 a.m. on May 13 is under investigation.

• A $30 flashlight was reported stolen from a business in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 4:45 p.m. on May 15.

 

Malicious mischief

• Just before 9:20 a.m. on May 13, an attempted burglary involving an unidentified suspect trying to pry open a door and breaking a window with a rock in the 2500 block of North National Avenue was reported.

• Damage to a garage was reported in the 400 block of Southwest 15th Street just after 3:25 p.m. on May 13.

 



Assault

• A 36-year-old Centralia man was referred on a second-degree assault charge in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 9:20 a.m. on May 13. 

 

Green Hill School

• Two custodial assaults that occurred at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street between April 15 and April 23 were reported at 8:30 a.m. on May 15.

Sentencings

• Derek Steven Keeling, 37, of Mossyrock, pleaded guilty May 9 to one count each of third-degree assault, domestic violence, and fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. He was released May 9 after being sentenced to 364 days in jail with 303 days suspended for five years and credit for 61 days served. Keeling is required to obtain a drug and alcohol use evaluation and a domestic violence evaluation and complete all recommended treatment. No-contact orders in favor of the victims are in place.

• Angela Marie Gonzalez, 41, of Chehalis, pleaded guilty May 12 to one count each of forgery and possession of a controlled substance. Her drug offender sentencing alternative for an unrelated case was revoked and she was sentenced to a total of 36 months in prison between three separate cases.

• Kevin Lee Gordon Jr., 27, of Chehalis, entered an Alford plea on May 13 to one count of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. An Alford plea allows a defendant to take advantage of a plea deal without admitting guilt. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail with 361 days suspended and credit for three days served. He is required to undergo substance use disorder and domestic violence evaluations and complete all recommended treatment. A no-contact order in favor of the victim is in place.

• Caleb Roman Rickey, 38, of Kelso, pleaded guilty May 14 to one count of felony DUI and was sentenced to 22 months in prison with credit for 47 days served. He is required to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and complete all recommended treatment.

• Sebastian Lee Foster, 18, pleaded guilty May 14 to three counts of custodial assault between two cases and was sentenced to 14 months in prison.

• Marius Anthony Velazquez, 19, pleaded guilty May 14 to one count of custodial assault and was sentenced to 2 months in jail.

• Emily Elizabeth Gilbert, 30, of Vancouver, pleaded guilty May 14 to one count of forgery. She was released after being sentenced to 18 days in jail with credit for 18 days served.

• Christopher Alan Snipes, 48, of Chehalis, pleaded guilty May 14 to one count of second-degree malicious mischief and was sentenced to 14 days in jail with credit for 14 days served. He is required to pay $5,946.28 in restitution to the Nike Clearance Store in Centralia. A no-contact order in favor of the business is in place.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 42 illness-related calls, eight injury-related calls, three fire-related calls, three non-emergency service calls, one vehicle accident, one 911-hangup call, one suicide-related call, one hazardous conditions report, one rescue and one other call.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 22 inmates, including six booked by the Centralia Police Department, nine booked by the state Department of Corrections, two booked by Chehalis Tribal Law Enforcement, one booked by the City of McCleary, three booked by the La Push Quileute Nation and one booked by the Skokomish Tribe
