Sirens: Police Officer Kicked; Using Water Hose Without Permission; Locked in Bathroom; 'Vaping in the Dairy Department'

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• A man driving a blue Hyundai in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 8:15 a.m. on May 3 was reportedly “driving around the place screaming” and almost hit a couple of other cars. 

• Two subjects, one in a black ski mask and one in a white ski mask and a teal hoodie, were reportedly seen traveling on foot in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street just after 9:35 p.m. on May 3. 

• A patient reportedly “ripped off his ankle monitor” and fled from a facility in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue at approximately 12:10 a.m. on May 4. 

• A man was reportedly “dancing in the middle of the street (and) screaming at himself” in the 100 block of Southeast 16th Street just after 6:35 a.m. on May 5. 

 

Unsecured Load 

• Tin pieces reportedly fell off of a trailer transporting tin roofing in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 8:40 a.m. on May 3. 

 

Assault 

• A case of fourth-degree assault reported in the 2000 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue just after 9 a.m. on May 3 is under investigation. 

• A subject was cited for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just before 5:15 p.m. on May 3. 

 

Dispute 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 1400 block of Southwest Mills Avenue at 9:30 p.m. on May 4. 

 

Criminal Trespass

• A customer at a business in the 1500 block of North National Avenue was reportedly “creating a scene” and “being disorderly” just after 11:55 a.m. on May 3. The customer was trespassed from the business. 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:25 p.m. on May 3. 

• Juveniles were reportedly playing on train tracks in the 500 block of Northwest Front Street at approximately 7:35 p.m. on May 3. Trains were notified and the juveniles were issued a warning for trespassing. 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 4:55 p.m. on May 4. When asked to leave, the subject, who reportedly had a pistol, told the reporting parting “who is going to make me.” 

• A subject who was reportedly “vaping … in the dairy department” of a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 5:50 p.m. on May 4 was trespassed from the business. 

 

Theft 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 10:10 a.m. on May 3 is under investigation. 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 2:05 p.m. on May 4 is under investigation. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• Just before 12:05 p.m. on May 3, a hit-and-run that occurred in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue the day prior was reported. 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard just before 12:30 p.m. on May 4. 

 

Vehicle Accident 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of South Market Boulevard and Southeast 12th Street just after 4:30 p.m. on May 3. 

 

Animal Negligence/Abuse 

• Just after 4:30 p.m. on May 3, a caller reported a dark blue Chevy Tahoe that was abandoned at the intersection of Northwest Ohio Avenue and Northwest West Street at least three days prior had kittens inside. 

 

Juvenile Problem 



• A juvenile reportedly tried to take a bike from another juvenile at a playground in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 5:05 p.m. on May 3. 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A subject reportedly tried to get into a vehicle in the 100 block of South Silver Street just after 7:45 a.m. on May 3. The subject was issued a warning. 

• An unidentified subject reportedly “jumped in front of someone’s vehicle” at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues at 10:25 a.m. on May 4. The subject left before officers arrived. 

• An unidentified subject was reportedly sitting in the middle of the roadway in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue just before 11:15 a.m. on May 4. The subject left before officers arrived. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• Just after 8:35 a.m. on May 3, a business in the 1600 block of South Gold Street called to request assistance with a homeless man who had locked himself in the business’ bathroom. The subject left before officers arrived. 

• Just before 1:10 p.m. on May 3, a homeowner in the 1200 block of Eckerson Road reported an unidentified subject was “using the homeowner’s water hose without their permission.” Officers were unable to locate the subject. 

 

Assault 

• Just after 9:10 a.m. on May 3, a tenant reported being assaulted by their landlord in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue. The case is under investigation. 

• A 37-year-old Puyallup woman was arrested in the 1300 block of St. Helens Street just after 9:35 p.m. on May 4 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree assault after she allegedly kicked a police officer who was arresting her for a separate domestic violence assault. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Yew and Mellen streets just before 12:05 p.m. on May 3. 

• Injuries were reported following a single-vehicle collision in the 400 block of Union Street at approximately 2:35 p.m. on May 3. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 600 block of F Street just before 3:20 p.m. on May 4. 

 

Theft 

• A homeless man who reportedly threatened to steal merchandise from a store in the 200 block of South Pearl Street just before 12:30 p.m. on May 3 was issued a warning. 

• AirPod headphones were reported stolen from the 100 block of South Silver Street just after 3:20 p.m. on May 3. 

 

Dispute 

• A family dispute was reported in the 500 block of West Roanoke Street just before 4:15 p.m. on May 3. 

• A civil dispute was reported in the 1000 block of Grand Avenue just before 4:50 p.m. on May 3. 

• A civil dispute was reported in the 1000 block of Grand Avenue just after 8:50 p.m. on May 3. 

 

Littering 

• A homeless man from Centralia was cited for littering in the 500 block of South Ash Street just after 5:10 p.m. on May 3. 

 

Runaway Juvenile 

• A juvenile was reported as a runaway from the 600 block of West Roanoke Street just before 8:20 a.m. on May 4. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 166 inmates, including 151 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 118 were reported male and 33 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and three were reported female.
