Sentencings
• Vinnu N. Ngeth, 21, Auburn, was sentenced Sept. 10 to 26 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count each of second-degree burglary, first-degree malicious mischief and first-degree theft. According to court documents, Ngeth’s sentence will run concurrently with a 26-month sentence in Cowlitz County as part of a global resolution. CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Accidents
• Richard A. Thomas, 52, Centralia, was arrested and issued a criminal citation for alleged third-degree driving with a suspended or revoked license after he was involved in a minor collision in the 2500 block of Mount Vista Road at about 8:55 p.m. Sept. 11.
• Officers responded to a reported motor vehicle collision with no injuries in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 4:37 p.m. Sept. 12.
• Officers responded to a reported motor vehicle collision with no injuries in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue at about 5 p.m. Sept. 12.
• Officers responded to a reported motor vehicle collision with no injuries near the corner of South Gold Street and Fair Street at about 6:09 a.m. Sept. 13.
Assault
• An assault was reported in the 900 block of North Tower Avenue at about 1:35 a.m. Sept. 12. The case is under investigation.
• Linda Bartlett, 77, Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) after allegedly assaulting and injuring a household/family member in the 1000 block of Swanson Drive at about 11:23 a.m. Sept. 13.
• Douglas R. Janko, 43, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence) after a reported dispute with an intimate partner in the 900 block of Mikayla Lane at about 2:15 a.m. Sept. 14.
Child abuse
• Officers responded to a report of child abuse in the 100 block of Virginia Drive at about 2:35 p.m. Sept. 11. Police said the child was taken into protective custody and turned over to Child Protective Services. The case is under investigation.
Criminal trespass
• Teresa Leys, 57, Centralia, was referred to the Centralia Municipal Court for alleged second-degree criminal trespass in the 100 block of South Silver Street at about 2:50 p.m. Sept. 11.
• Teresa Leys, 57, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged first-degree criminal trespass in the 100 block of South Silver Street at about 2:21 p.m. Sept. 12.
• Teresa Leys, 57, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespass in the 300 block of West Main Street at about 2:53 p.m. Sept. 12.
Drug violation
• Michael A. Rowland, 43, Centralia, was arrested in the 1300 block of North Pearl Street at about 5:57 p.m. Sept. 13 and booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding Lewis County District Court warrant, as well as for alleged knowing possession of a controlled substance and use/delivery of drug paraphernalia.
• Bob E. Maass, 55, Centralia, was arrested in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at about 1:50 a.m. Sept. 14 and booked into the Lewis County Jail on outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrants, as well as for alleged second-degree criminal trespass, knowing possession of a controlled substance and knowing possession of a prescription drug without a prescription.
DUI
• Fernando Velazquez Mazariegos, 28, Mossyrock, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for DUI after he allegedly caused a collision with a traffic sign while under the influence of liquor in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue at about 2:24 a.m. Sept. 13.
Fraud
• Officers began investigating a case of rental fraud in the 2800 block of Zenkner Valley Road at about 2:07 a.m. Sept. 12.
Harassment
• Tyler Findley, 33, Winlock, was referred to the Centralia Municipal Court for telephone harassment in the 1600 block of South Gold Street at about 10:49 a.m. Sept. 11 after he allegedly made numerous threatening phone calls to a potential employer who’d refused to hire him.
Hit-and-run
• Rex Jacobsen, 36, Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for hit-and-run in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 5:34 p.m. Sept. 12 after he allegedly left the scene of the collision without exchanging insurance information.
Malicious mischief
• Officers received a report of vandalism to a vehicle parked at a local business in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at about 3:14 p.m. Sept. 13. No suspect information was available at the time.
• A vehicle was reportedly damaged by an unknown suspect in the 200 block of South Tower Avenue at about 10:58 p.m. Sept. 13.
Sexual misconduct
• Officers received a report of sexually immoral communications with a minor over social media in the 1400 block of Lewis Street at about 1:59 p.m. Sept. 12. The case is under investigation.
Theft
• Officers responded to a report of a stolen power drill in the 1000 block of West First Street at about 9:24 a.m. Sept. 11. No suspect information was available at the time.
• Officers responded to an attempted shoplift at a local business in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 10:19 a.m. Sept. 11. The suspect was unidentified at the time.
• Makayela Steinke, 34, Centralia, was referred to the Centralia Municipal Court for third-degree theft after allegedly shoplifting merchandise from a local business in the 1000 block of South Gold Street at about 2:05 p.m. Sept. 11.
• Officers responded to a reported theft at a local business in the 1400 block of Lum Road at about 1:19 p.m. Sept. 12. The case is under investigation.
Violation of court order
• An order violation was reported in the 700 block of F Street at about 4:29 p.m. Sept. 11. The violation, which reportedly occurred over social media, is under investigation.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Chehalis Police Department has not yet released its most recent call reports. Look for updated information in an upcoming edition of The Chronicle and at chronline.com when the reports are made available.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Sept. 14, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 159 inmates, including 146 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 122 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Sept. 14, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 23 inmates. Of those, eight were from Centralia, one was from Elma and eight were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were four from the Lummi Nation and one each from the Chehalis Tribal Court and the Quileute Nation.
