CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Dispute 

• Officers responded to a homeless camp in the 1600 block of Reynolds Avenue just before 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 in reference to a disorderly female who was being aggressive to others in the camp. The female was located near a local motel and was warned about her behavior.

 

Theft 

• At approximately 12:50 p.m. on Aug. 15, $100 was reported stolen from an apartment in an assisted living facility in the 2700 block of Colonial Drive. 

• A woman reportedly stole approximately $25 worth of items from a store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at 3:35 p.m. on Aug. 15. 

• A cellphone was reported stolen from the 500 block of North Gold Street just after 9:05 a.m. on Aug. 16. 

• A speaker was reported stolen from a business in the 1200 block of Lum Road just before 3:40 p.m. on Aug. 17. 

• Bank cards were reported stolen from the 900 block of Johnson Road just after 7:55 p.m. on Aug. 17. The case is under investigation. 

• Bank cards were reported stolen from the 200 block of Borst Avenue at 10:35 p.m. on Aug. 17. The case is under investigation. 

• Candy was reported stolen from a store in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 11:25 p.m. on Aug. 17. The case is under investigation. 

 

Fraud 

• A case of fraud involving an elderly woman who had money missing from her account was reported in the 1500 block of Harrison Avenue just after 12:45 p.m. on Aug. 16. The case is under investigation. 

 

Vehicle accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues at 1:50 p.m. on Aug. 15. 

• Injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Reynolds Avenue and Johnson Road just after 8:35 p.m. on Aug. 15. The at-fault driver was issued a citation. The Centralia Police Department did not disclose information about who was injured or the extent of the injury. 

• Injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and West High Street just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 16. The Centralia Police Department did not disclose information about who was injured or the extent of the injury. 

 

Hit-and-run 

• A hit-and-run collision was reported in the 200 block of East Plum Street just after 5:55 p.m. on Aug. 17. 

 

Criminal trespass 

• A Winlock resident was trespassed from a business in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue just after 7:35 p.m. on Aug. 15 after she allegedly stole items and told the store clerk she was a thief. The business did not elect to pursue theft charges. 

• A homeless man was reportedly trespassing on private property in the 1300 block of South Gold Street just after 9 a.m. on Aug. 16. Officers located the man, who needed mental health assistance and was taken to a medical facility for evaluation and treatment. 

• A homeless Centralia resident was trespassed from a business in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just after 6:45 p.m. on Aug. 16. 

• Seven homeless people — four from Centralia, one from Rainier, one from Cinebar and one from Chehalis — were trespassed from a business in the 100 block of North Rock Street just after 5:05 a.m. on Aug. 17. 

• Individuals were trespassed from private property in the 1300 block of Kresky Avenue just before 12:25 p.m. on Aug. 17. 

 

Burglary 

• A 32-year-old Oregon woman was arrested in the 100 block of North Gold Street just before 6 p.m. on Aug. 16 for second-degree burglary after she allegedly entered a building she was trespassed from. She was additionally booked on obstructing a law enforcement officer charges. 

 

Reckless burning 

• A 54-year-old Centralia man was cited for second-degree reckless burning for “having a fire that appeared to be violating the burn ban” in the 1600 block of Far View Lane and “refusing to allow law enforcement to see it.” 

 

Assault 

• A report of a female assaulting a male was made in the 400 block of West Main Street at 3:55 a.m. on Aug. 17. The case is under investigation. 

 

Camping 

• Individuals were warned for camping on city property in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue at approximately 7:25 a.m. on Aug. 17. 



• Individuals were warned for camping on city property at the intersection of Borst and Belmont avenues at 7:45 a.m. on Aug. 17. 

• Individuals were warned for camping on city property at the intersection of Borst and Belmont avenues at 8:05 a.m. on Aug. 17. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Criminal trespass

• A subject found sleeping near the kitchen area of a business in the 1500 block of Rice Road at 7:40 a.m. on Aug. 16 was trespassed from the business. 

• Just after 10:50 a.m. on Aug. 17, a subject reportedly trespassed on property in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue to park his car. The subject reportedly “ignored (the reporting party) when told he couldn’t park there and went into the fair.” 

• Subjects associated with a van parked at a property in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue were trespassed from the property at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 17. 

• A homeless man reportedly trespassed on a property in the 10 block of South Market Boulevard just before 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 17. 

 

Harassment 

• A case of harassment was reported in the 400 block of Southwest 18th Street just before 1:55 p.m. on Aug. 16. 

 

Assault 

• A fight between two students was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street at 2:35 p.m. on Aug. 16. At least one of the two students was bleeding and requested medical aid. The students did not wish to pursue criminal charges. 

• A case of third-degree assault reported in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just before 9:40 a.m. on Aug. 17 is under investigation. 

 

Vehicle accident 

• A woman reported minor injuries after an airbag deployed during a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northwest Arkansas Way and Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 16. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 200 block of North Market Boulevard just after 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 17. 

• A 6-year-old boy who was pushing a shopping cart in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was hit by a car just after 7 p.m. on Aug. 17 and was seriously injured. The child was breathing normally when the reporting party called 911, according to the Chehalis Police Department. 

 

Disorderly conduct 

• Just after 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 16, there was a report that a “distressed male” was “causing damage to signs with a baseball bat” in the 500 block of West Main Street. Officers confirmed no damage was done and “sent (the male) on his way.”

 

Theft 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 16 is under investigation. 

• A vehicle was reported stolen from the 1300 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue just after 12:05 p.m. on Aug. 17. 

 

Suspicious circumstances 

• Just before 10:10 p.m. on Aug. 16, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reported people were “flipping him sh-t” and said “he was having homicidal ideas toward him.” He ultimately asked for medical aid and was transported to the hospital. 

 

Animal negligence/abuse 

• A case of animal negligence/abuse reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 is under investigation. 

 

Racoons on a power pole 

• Just after 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 17, a caller in the 1400 block of Southwest Mills Avenue reported “Three racoons (on) a power pole (were) causing her lights to cut in and out.” Officers confirmed there were three racoons halfway up a power pole in the area. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 145 inmates, including 133 in the general population and 12 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 104 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 10 were reported male and two were reported female.
