CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of West Pear and South Silver streets just before 10:15 a.m. on May 28.
Drug violation
• A 28-year-old Chehalis man and a 22-year-old Chehalis man were arrested for possession of suspected narcotics following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 1:35 p.m. on May 28.
Malicious mischief
• Damage to a vehicle window was reported in the 1000 block of K Street just after 3:55 p.m. on May 28.
Criminal impersonation
• A 40-year-old Centralia woman was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and for lying to police about her identity at the intersection of Crescent Avenue and Meridian Avenue just before 4 p.m. on May 28.
Theft
• Two juveniles reportedly stole alcohol from a business in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just after 8:50 p.m. on May 28.
• An unknown male suspect stole merchandise from a local business in the 100 block of West High Street. The case, reported at about 7:47 p.m. May 29, is under investigation.
Criminal trespass
• A homeless woman was trespassed from a business in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 12:35 a.m. on May 29.
• A 30-year-old Centralia man was arrested for trespassing on private property at about 10:51 a.m. May 29 in the 1100 block of West First Street. He was also arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
Crashes
• A two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Falvin Road at 9:26 a.m. May 29.
Assault
• Officers are investigating an assault reported at the intersection of South Silver Street and Centralia College Boulevard at about 12:36 p.m. May 29. A suspect was arrested and released.
• A juvenile was referred to the prosecutor’s office for assault charges after officers responded to the 1000 block of South Tower Avenue at about 8:08 p.m. May 29.
Protection order
• Officers are investigating a violation of a protection order reported at 5:20 p.m. May 29 in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road.
Public urination
• A 55-year-old Winlock man was issued a citation for urinating in public at about 7:43 p.m. May 29 at East Locust Street and South Railroad Avenue.

Child abuse
• A case of child abuse or neglect that was reported in the 1600 block of North National Avenue just after 3:40 p.m. on May 28 is under investigation.
Suspicious circumstances
• A subject reportedly broke out the glass of his car window, spreading glass everywhere, in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard just before 3:50 p.m. on May 28.

Chargings
• Janine Marie Cross, 50, of Seattle, was charged May 28 with one count each of third-degree retail theft with special circumstances and possession of a controlled substance after she was allegedly caught shoplifting from the Polo Ralph Lauren outlet store in Centralia on May 27. The store manager reportedly saw three people carrying items standing by the back emergency door, and law enforcement responded by taking up “several positions outside the store to prevent any getaway,” according to court documents. Cross allegedly entered the store, talked to the group and then exited the store with a purse full of merchandise. The other three subjects left the store without any merchandise and were not facing felony charges as of Thursday afternoon. Cross allegedly had a baggie of meth on her person at the time of her arrest. She was released May 28 on $5,000 unsecured bail. Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, June 5.
• Cooper Alan Eugene Minkler, 20, of Rochester, was charged May 29 with one count each of second-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence; violation of a court order, domestic violence; and second-degree criminal trespass, domestic violence; after he allegedly caused intentional damage to his ex-girlfriend’s car on May 27. Minkler allegedly slashed three of the vehicle’s tires, punctured the rear light covers and scraped the side of the vehicle. The damage was estimated at over $750, according to court documents. Bail is set at $10,000. An attorney status review hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 5.
Sentencing
• Randal Earl Parker Jr. 30, of Elma, pleaded guilty May 28 to one count of second-degree theft and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for one day served. He is allowed to serve his jail time via electronic home monitoring, which must begin no later than June 6.
• Colton Leonard Kalebaugh, 27, of Pe Ell, pleaded guilty May 28 to one count each of felony harassment, DUI and hit-and-run to an unattended vehicle. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 41 days served. He is also required to undergo a substance use disorder evaluation and complete all recommended treatment.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 159 inmates, including 146 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 123 were reported male and 23 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 22 inmates, including eight booked by the Centralia Police Department, five booked by the state Department of Corrections, two booked by the City of Elma, three booked by the Quileute Nation, one each booked from the Tulalip Tribe, Chehalis Tribal Law Enforcement, Chehalis Tribal Court and the Skokomish Tribe.
