Sirens: Sexual Misconduct; DUI Arrest; Shooting Complaint; Counterfeiting; Intoxicated Juvenile

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Burglary

• A Centralia woman was arrested in the 400 block of West Main Street at approximately 5:20 p.m. on June 10 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding burglary warrant out of Lewis County Superior Court. She was additionally referred to the prosecutor’s office for charges related to a burglary to an unoccupied residence in the 100 block of North Oak Street. Additional burglary charges were referred to the prosecutor’s office related to an incident that was reported in the 700 block of H Street just after 10:55 p.m. on June 10.

• A burglary of a shop at a residence in the 900 block of South Pearl Street was reported just before 5:30 a.m. on June 11. The victim reportedly confronted the two suspects, who have yet to be identified.

• Property was reported stolen out of the backyard of a residence in the 200 block of North King Street just after 11:55 a.m. on June 12.

• Graffiti was reported on the inside of a shed that belongs to an educational facility in the 900 block of West Walnut Street at approximately 10:20 a.m. on June 13.

 

Vehicle Theft and Recovery 

• Just before 4:10 a.m. on June 11, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Long Road sometime overnight.

• A vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Centralia was recovered in the 1000 block of South Pearl Street just after 5:40 a.m. on June 11.

 

Retail Theft

• Merchandise was reported stolen from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 3:45 p.m. on June 12.

 

Sexual Misconduct

• A Rochester man was cited for soliciting another person for sexual conduct in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at approximately 8:35 p.m. on June 10 after he allegedly “grab(bed) his privates and ask(ed) the victim if she wanted to make some money.”

Trespassing

• Two subjects were trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 1:55 p.m. on June 11.

 

Assault

• A Chehalis man was cited for fourth-degree assault in the 210 block of Jackson Street at 9:20 p.m. on June 11.

 

Harassment

• A case of harassment involving threats that was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 3 a.m. on June 12 is under investigation.

 

Malicious Mischief

• Graffiti was reported on a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 4:55 a.m. on June 12.

• Damage to the front door of a residence in the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue was reported at approximately 10:20 a.m. on June 12. 

• Damage to several mailboxes at a business center in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue was reported at approximately 10:25 a.m. on June 13.

 

DUI

• Tara M. Burgeis, 37, of Centralia, was arrested at the intersection of South Scheuber and Cooks Hill roads just after 7 p.m. on June 12 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence after her vehicle reportedly left the roadway and struck a street sign and some small trees.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run that damaged a fence enclosing an electrical substation was reported in the 1100 block of North Tower Avenue at approximately 8:15 a.m. on June 13.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Accidents



• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Northwest Chehalis and Northwest Pacific avenues just after 5:25 p.m. on June 10.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 6:30 p.m. on June 10.

• A non-injury vehicle accident that was reported at the intersection of North National Avenue and Northwest Division Street just before 11:45 a.m. on June 11 is under investigation.

• A non-injury vehicle accident was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 2:15 p.m. on June 11.

• A non-injury vehicle accident reported in the 200 block of Southwest Prospect Street at 9:20 p.m. on June 11 is under investigation.

• A pickup truck reportedly struck and severely damaged a fire hydrant in the 100 block of North Market Boulevard just after 6:05 p.m. on June 12. No injuries were reported.

 

Theft

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 6:15 p.m. on June 10 is under investigation.

• Paint products were reported stolen from a business in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 12:05 p.m. on June 11.

• A vehicle was reported stolen from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. on June 11.

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 500 block of Southwest Parkland Drive just after 9:05 p.m. on June 11.

 

Shooting Complaint

• At 6:25 p.m. on June 10, a caller reported hearing gunshots and hearing a woman say “help me” in the 800 block of West Main Street. No arrests were made.

 

Unattended Child

• Just after 4:50 p.m. on June 11, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported seeing an 8-year-old child sitting unattended in a vehicle with the window cracked. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle when they arrived on the scene.

 

Disputes

• A physical dispute was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 9:15 p.m. on June 11. No arrests were made.

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Fifth Street just after 8:10 p.m. on June 12.

 

Counterfeiting

• A counterfeit $100 bill was reported in the 2100 block of North National Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. on June 12.

 

Trespassing

• A couple was trespassed from a business in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way just after 4:15 p.m. on June 12 after they allegedly opened the door to the employee break room “wanting assistance” then grabbed an employee's arm when the employee told them they couldn’t be in the break room.

 

Intoxicated Juvenile

• A 14-year-old boy in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street reportedly called the police just after 6:55 p.m. on June 12 and said “he was drunk and wanted to be arrested.” No arrests were made. The case has been sent to the juvenile prosecutor’s office for review of possible minor in possession of alcohol charges.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 125 inmates, including 114 in the general population and 11 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 99 were reported male and 15 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, nine were reported male and two were reported female.
