Sirens: Student accused of assault, malicious mischief; arrest for drugs, dangerous weapon; theft reported at retail stores

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Anthony A. Shunn Sr., 41, Olympia, was arrested in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 5:20 p.m. May 5 for an outstanding warrant, along with alleged possession of a controlled substance and dangerous weapon.

• Ryan G. Silva, 53, Centralia, was arrested after allegedly stealing from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9:10 p.m. May 5.

Accidents

• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at about 5:38 p.m. May 4.

Assault

• An assault was reported in the 900 block of Johnson Road at about 3:49 p.m. May 4. The case is under investigation.

Fraud

• Officers took a report of fraudulent activity on a bank account in the 1300 block of South Gold Street at about 12:43 p.m. May 5. The case is under investigation.

Hit-and-run

• Officers investigated a hit-and-run collision in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue at about 2:56 p.m. May 5.



Theft

• A theft at a local retail store was reported in the 1500 block of Lum Road at about 1:08 p.m. May 4. The case is under investigation.

• A theft at a local retail store was reported in the 1300 block of Lum Road at about 5:38 p.m. May 4. The case is under investigation.

• Two juveniles were trespassed from a local store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 2:45 p.m. May 5 after allegedly stealing items from the store.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• A juvenile was transported to the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for alleged third-degree assault and third-degree malicious mischief regarding damages reported at the Lewis County Alternative School at about 8:26 a.m. May 4. The juvenile was also booked for alleged disorderly conduct.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of May 6, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 151 inmates, including 138 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 115 were reported male and 23 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of May 6, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 24 inmates. Of those, 10 were from Centralia, one was from Elma and 10 were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there was one each from the Quileute Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe and the Chehalis Tribe.
