CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Austen C. Vermillion, 20, Centralia, was arrested in the 900 block of Old Airport Way at about 4:04 p.m. Jan. 28 after allegedly stealing items from a local store in Chehalis. Vermillion reportedly travelled by bus to Centralia, where he was taken into custody for the theft and two outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrants.
• Brandy L. Krueger, 53, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for theft after allegedly stealing items from a local grocery store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 10:14 p.m. Jan. 29.
Burglary
• Officers responded to an overnight burglary in the 1900 block of South Gold Street at about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 29.
Malicious Mischief
• A subject was referred to the prosecutor’s office for charges regarding property damage in the 1400 block of Kresky Avenue at about 6:40 p.m. Jan. 28.
• Two tires were reported slashed on a vehicle in the 900 block of Johnson Road at about 2:34 p.m. Jan. 29. There were no known suspects at the time.
Fraud
• Officers investigated a fraud case in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9:46 a.m. Jan. 28. According to police, the case involves fraudulent checks used to purchase items from a local business.
• A fake $20 bill was passed at a local store in the 300 block of West Reynolds Avenue at about 6:09 p.m. Jan. 29. The case is under investigation.
Identity theft
• Officers contacted a male subject in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue at about 8:36 p.m. Jan. 28. According to police, the man — who has yet to be located — allegedly provided another person’s identity prior to leaving the area.
Possession of narcotics
• John M. Williford, 30, Centralia, was arrested in the 900 block of East Locust Street at about 12:36 p.m. Jan. 28 for alleged outstanding felony and municipal court warrants. Upon arrest, Williford was allegedly found with suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Theft
• A theft was reported at a local store in the 300 block of West Reynolds Avenue at about 1:08 p.m. Jan. 28. The suspect reportedly left prior to the police’s arrival.
• Officers received a report of a cell phone theft in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 4:16 a.m. Jan 29.
• Officers responded to theft at a local store in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9:59 a.m. Jan. 29. The suspect reportedly left prior to the police’s arrival.
• Cory T. Kihn, 40, Oakville, was referred for third-degree theft after Kihn was allegedly caught on camera stealing items from a local grocery store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 10:31 p.m. Jan. 29. Kihn reportedly distracted employees by saying someone was drinking a “beer” in the store and then walked out without paying for items. Kihn had allegedly done this on multiple occasions.

Arrests
• Austen Vermillion was booked for alleged third-degree theft that occurred in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 3:40 p.m. Jan. 28.
• Sequoia Swanson was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree theft and use of drug paraphernalia in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 4:05 p.m. Jan. 28.
Drug violation
• A subject was issued a criminal citation for alleged knowing possession of a controlled substance in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 6:15 p.m. Jan. 28.
Theft
• Brandon Dolman was issued a criminal citation for alleged third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 3:40 p.m. Jan. 28.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Jan. 30, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 171 inmates, including 158 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 127 were reported male and 31 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Jan. 30, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 16 inmates. Of those, five were from Centralia, one was from Elma, one was from Napavine and four were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there was one each from the Skokomish Tribe, the Quileute Nation, the Suquamish Tribe, the Tulalip Tribe and the Chehalis Tribe.
