Sirens: Suspect Ditches One Stolen Car, Steals Another; Rape Reported; Burglary and Theft

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Malicious Mischief

• A broken window in the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road was reported at 11:05 a.m. on May 21.

• Just after 2:35 p.m. on May 22, a caller reported that a vehicle tire in the 1300 block of St. Helens Street had been slashed.

• At 8:25 p.m. on May 22, a caller reported that a window was broken out of a travel trailer in the 1100 block of Roosevelt Avenue.

 

Burglary and Theft

• An attempted burglary in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue was reported just before 2:15 p.m. on May 21.

• A theft resulting from a scam call was reported in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just after 4:50 p.m. on May 21.

• Cigarettes and other merchandise were reported stolen from a business in the 1300 block of South Gold Street just before 1:20 a.m. on May 22. The incident is under investigation.

• Money was reported stolen from the 1800 block of Collison Street just after 11:30 a.m. on May 22.

• A television was reported stolen from the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue just after 7:20 p.m. on May 22.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• A laptop was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1200 block of Mellen Street just after 6:30 a.m. on May 23.

• Sunglasses were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1800 block of Westside Court just before 10:20 a.m. on May 23.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A two-vehicle hit-and-run accident was reported in the 100 block of West Maple Street just after 6:30 p.m. on May 21.

 

Assault

• Sharon C. Loukinen, 72, of Tenino, was arrested in the 1300 block of Kulien Avenue just after 3 p.m. on May 23 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault.

Vehicle Theft

• A white Honda Accord was reported stolen from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2 p.m. on May 21. The suspect left behind another vehicle that had been stolen out of Thurston County.

• A silver Toyota Camry was reported stolen from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 11:30 p.m. on May 21.

 

Burglary and Theft 

• A shoplift occurred in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:50 p.m. on May 21.

• A theft was reported in the 1000 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue at approximately 3:40 p.m. on May 22.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 10 block of South Market Boulevard at 9:05 a.m. on May 23 is under investigation.

• A vehicle prowl reported in the 200 block of Northwest State Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. on May 23 is under investigation.

 

Assault

• Marc Read, 45, of Chehalis, was arrested in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue just after 11:30 p.m. on May 22 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

• A subject was cited for second-degree assault in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 6:50 a.m. on May 23.

Death Investigation

• A death reported in the 1800 block of Southeast Cypress Avenue just before 7 a.m. on May 23 is under investigation.

 

Rape

• A second-degree rape reported in the 500 block of Southeast Adams Avenue just after 6:25 p.m. on May 23 is under investigation.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 150 inmates, including 133 in the general population and 17 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 107 were reported male and 26 were reported female. All WERC inmates were reported male.
