Sentencings
• Jake A. Reinitz, 39, Centralia, was sentenced on Oct. 2 to 13 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count each of residential burglary and third-degree theft. For previous Chronicle coverage, visit https://tinyurl.com/4wx9b3r2.
CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Elise C. Wray, 40, Centralia, was arrested in the 200 block of Latona Street at about 9:45 a.m. Oct. 2 and booked into jail for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance and physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence.
• Michael E. Garcia, 19, Centralia, was arrested and booked into jail after officers attempted to pull him over for allegedly speeding near the corner of West Pear Street and South Tower Avenue at about 8:13 p.m. Oct. 2. Garcia allegedly failed to stop and drove recklessly while disregarding traffic laws. Police said he ultimately pulled over after damaging his vehicle.
• Nicholas L. Gonzalez, 36, Chehalis, was arrested after allegedly striking an individual for no apparent reason at a bar in the 500 block of North Tower Avenue at about 8:57 p.m. Oct. 3.
• Reed G. Seckel, 37, Michigan, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged disorderly conduct in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue at about 5:07 a.m. Oct. 4.
• Matthew E. Eastman, 42, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree assault in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at about 8:50 a.m. Oct. 4. Eastman allegedly struck a medical professional in the face.
• Donnie D. Driver, 42, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly using drug paraphernalia and obstructing law enforcement near the corner of East Summa Street and Kresky Avenue at about 10:54 a.m. Oct. 4.
• Peyton P. Thome, 18, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree burglary in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue at about 11:49 a.m. Oct. 4. According to police, Thome allegedly went behind the counter of a local store and stole over $700 worth of Pokémon cards.
• Jonathan T. Hewitt, 24, Tenino, was arrested in the 100 block of Pioneer Way at about 6:24 p.m. Oct. 4 after allegedly provoking a physical altercation with a stranger and then biting the victim’s face. Prosecutors declined to file charges in Lewis County Superior Court, according to court documents.
Drug violation
• Justin B. Bedortha, 36, Centralia, was arrested near the corner of Harrison Avenue and View Avenue at about 12:49 p.m. Oct. 2 and released with a criminal citation for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance and multiple driving-related offenses. Michael T. Mayer, 65, Winlock, was also arrested and released for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
• Carla S. Kalista, 41, Winlock, was arrested near the corner of South Washington Avenue and West Main Street at about 2:19 p.m. Oct. 2 and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia and a trip permit violation. Teresa I. Thayer, 62, Chehalis, was also arrested and released with a criminal citation for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.
• Savannah S. Dukes, 28, Centralia, was arrested and released with a criminal citation for alleged use of drug paraphernalia in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 5:38 a.m. Oct. 3.
• Misty D. Fuller, 47, Centralia, was arrested and released with a criminal citation for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 7:22 a.m. Oct. 3.
Fraud
• Police took a report of an unlawful charge on a bank card in the 700 block of M Street at about 11:12 p.m. Oct. 2. The case is under investigation.
Littering complaint
• Officers began investigating a littering report in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:57 p.m. Oct. 3. According to police, the suspect, who has been identified, dumped a “criminal amount of litter” and abandoned a cat. A local animal rescue reportedly recovered the cat.
Theft
• Wood was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Eckerson Road at about 6:15 p.m. Oct. 2. The case is under investigation.
• A juvenile was referred for charges after stealing alcohol from a local grocery store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 8:17 p.m. Oct. 2.
• A theft at a local clothing store was reported in the 100 block of West High Street at about 3:05 p.m. Oct. 4.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Oct. 5, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 151 inmates, including 138 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 117 were reported male and 21 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Oct. 5, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 13 inmates. Of those, five were from Centralia and three were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were four from the Lummi Nation and one from the Tulalip Tribe.
