Sirens: Three juvenile siblings caught shoplifting; driver learns recently purchased vehicle was stolen; arrests for assault, theft, eluding and more

Arrests

• Jessica Cecil, 34, Winlock, was arrested in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 6:05 p.m. Aug. 29 and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary after allegedly shoplifting from a local business where she had a lifetime trespassing ban.

• Bo L. Lavender, 40, Chehalis, was arrested in the 300 block of South Diamond Street and booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after allegedly assaulting someone he had a family or household relationship with and causing injury at about 6:17 p.m. Aug. 29.

• Chase B. Olson, 42, Chehalis, was arrested in the 1200 block of Lum Road for allegedly driving with a suspended license at about 9:42 a.m. Aug. 30.

• Estebon E. Molina, 41, was arrested in the 3600 block of Harrison Avenue for alleged theft of a motor vehicle at about 7:57 p.m. Aug. 30. Centralia police assisted the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.

• Brian L. Schmidt, 57, Centralia, was arrested in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver at about 10:49 p.m. Aug. 30.

• Marco Z. Salinas, 33, Texas, was arrested in the 1000 block of South Yew Street after allegedly taking items from a store without paying for them at approximately 2:28 p.m. on Aug. 31.

• Julian D. Corrales Silva, 34, Federal Way, was arrested at the corner of Harrison Avenue and southbound Interstate 5 for allegedly attempting to elude and driving under the influence just before 2:08 a.m. Aug. 31. Centralia police assisted the Washington State Patrol with the arrest.

• Nicholas A. Huston, 32, and Brandi N. Wangen, 26, both of Centralia, were arrested in the 1000 block of South Yew Street after allegedly taking items from a store without paying for them at about 4:37 p.m. Aug. 31.

 

Theft

• Approximately $60 worth of merchandise was stolen from a store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at about 11:45 a.m. Aug. 29. The case is currently under investigation.

• Three juvenile siblings were referred to the Lewis County Juvenile Court for third-degree theft after shoplifting from a local business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at about 5:02 p.m. Aug. 29.

• Theft of money was reported in the 500 block of West Seventh Street at about 8:54 a.m. Aug. 30. The case is under investigation.      

• Theft of a laptop was reported in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue just before 6:14 p.m. Aug. 30. The case is under investigation.

• Theft of personal documents was reported in the 2400 block of Leisure Lane at about 7:09 p.m. Aug. 30. The case is under investigation.                                           

• A Nintendo Switch was reported stolen in the 1800 block of Taylor Street at about 9:09 a.m. Aug. 31.

 



Recovered stolen vehicle

• Officers located a stolen vehicle in the 8200 block of the southbound Interstate 5 collector-distributor lane at about 10:07 a.m. Aug. 31. The driver of the vehicle had recently traded for it on Facebook Marketplace and was not aware that it was stolen.

 

Assault

• Officers responded to a reported assault in the 2600 block of Howard Avenue at about 2:25 p.m. Aug. 31. This case is under investigation.

 

Accident       

• A three-vehicle collision was reported at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Ives Road at about 3:15 p.m. Aug. 30. Minor injuries were reported.            

• A two-vehicle collision was reported at the corner of South Tower Avenue and West Cherry Street about 2:01 p.m. Aug. 31.

Malicious mischief

• A report of vandalism to a vehicle was made at the corner of South Pearl Street and Centralia College Boulevard at about 7:20 p.m. Aug. 29. No suspect information is available at this time.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, Aug. 29, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 171 inmates, including 158 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 131 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
