CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Baylee S. Palmer, 25, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after she allegedly assaulted a subject during a domestic dispute at about 6:15 a.m. Aug. 19 in the 100 block of Virginia Drive.
• Michael T. Mayer, 64, of Winlock, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged possession of narcotics at about 8:53 a.m. Aug. 19 in the 1400 block of West Main Street.
• Candice Aho, 35, of Centralia, was arrested and released for second-degree criminal trespassing, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after crossing BNSF railroad tracks and being found in possession of suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia at about 10:38 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street. Aho was also given a new Centralia Municipal Court date for an outstanding arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Richard James, 32, of Shelton, was arrested and booked at the Chehalis Tribal Jail for second-degree criminal trespassing, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after crossing BNSF railroad tracks and being found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at about 10:38 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street.. During the same incident, Chaz D. Martinez, 38, of Centralia, was arrested on a Thurston County Superior Court warrant and was transferred to the custody of Thurston County deputies.
• Trinidad Lopez, 32, of Napavine, was referred to the Lewis County Superior Court for felony violation of a domestic violence no-contact order and second-degree assault after allegedly strangling the protected party and fleeing the scene before officers arrived at about 2 a.m. Aug. 20 in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road. The victim suffered minor injuries, and their breathing was significantly impaired during the time of the assault, which elevated the crime to a felony level, according to police.
• William J. Haunreiter, 67, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 9:19 a.m. Aug. 18 for allegedly driving under influence after he was stopped by an officer. Due to multiple prior DUI offenses, Haunreiter was booked for a felony DUI. He was also found to be driving with a suspended license and in violation of his requirement to have an ignition interlock in his vehicle. He was stopped in the 100 block of West Chestnut Street.
• Ian J. Avis, 30, of Puyallup, was arrested for second-degree theft after it was determined that he had stolen approximately $1,300 worth of products from a store. Avis was in the process of committing a similar theft at a store in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue when he was apprehended. Officers attempted to book Avis into jail at about 11:11 a.m. Aug. 18, but he was denied booking due to severe pre-existing medical conditions. Charges are being referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office.
• Corey Hayes, 37, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 6:32 p.m. Aug. 18 for second-degree rape after allegedly forcibly having sexual intercourse with another without that person’s consent in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue.
Scam info
• Centralia police uncovered a potential large-scale government insurance fraud case dealing with more than 6,000 different medical facilities across the country, according to a news release from the Centralia Police Department. The case is being referred to federal investigators for review, as there is no nexus to the City of Centralia.
• Fraudulent Amazon orders involving the use of a victim’s credit card were reported at about 11:45 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 300 block of North Diamond Street. The perpetrator was placing orders on the victim’s account and having the products shipped to an address in Grays Harbor County. The case is currently under investigation.
Assault
• An assault causing a serious head injury was reported at about 5:50 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 400 block of Prairie Rose Street. The case is under investigation.
Theft
• Shoplifting was reported from a business in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 1:02 a.m. Aug. 19.
• A theft of tools and a generator was reported at about 10:15 a.m. Aug. 19 in the 1900 block of South Gold Street. The case is currently under investigation.
• There was a report of multiple vehicle prowls of citizens’ vehicles in the area of the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 11:20 p.m. Aug. 19. No suspect information is available at this time.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 176 inmates, including 162 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 143 were reported male and 19 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
