CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Criminal Trespass

• A disorderly male was reportedly knocking on a person’s door in the 700 block of South Silver Street at approximately 8 a.m. on April 7. 

• Two “unknown transients” were reportedly using the laundry of a building in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue just after 8:45 a.m. on April 7. The subjects left the scene before officers arrived. 

• Three homeless subjects were reportedly camping on private property in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue just after 9:20 p.m. on April 7. 

• A business in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue asked officers to trespass several homeless people from the property at 1:05 p.m. on April 8. The subjects left before officers arrived. 

 

Dispute 

• One man reportedly “armed himself with a hammer” during a verbal dispute with another man in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue just before 9:20 a.m. on April 7. The reporting party identified both subjects as homeless. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A man, who was identified by the reporting party as homeless, was reportedly yelling at cars in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue just after 9:55 a.m. on April 7. 

• A man, who was identified by the reporting party as homeless, was reportedly “yelling at cars with his pants down” in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 11:20 a.m. on April 7. 

• A man was reportedly “screaming violently” near a coffee shop in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue just after noon on April 7. 

• An unidentified subject reportedly dumped garbage on the sidewalk at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and West Main Street just before 1:15 p.m. on April 7. 

• An unidentified man, who the reporting party identified as homeless, was reportedly “throwing items at passing cars” in the 1200 block of Lum Road just after 4:25 p.m. on April 7. 

• A homeless man from Vader was escorted off of private property in the 100 block of North Gold Street just before 7 a.m. on April 9 for “causing a disturbance.” 

 

Theft 

• Just before 10:35 a.m. on April 7, a business in the 1200 block of Lum Road reported a theft that occurred a week prior. 

• A theft from a residence in the 1000 block of Alder Street that was reported just after 12:15 p.m. on April 7 is under investigation. 

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1400 block of Lum Road at approximately noon on April 8. The suspects fled in a silver BMW with no license plates before officers arrived. 

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 1:05 p.m. on April 8. The suspects fled in a silver BMW with no license plates before officers arrived. 

 

Unlawful Weapon Display 

• Two juveniles were referred to a local prosecutor’s office for possible charging after they allegedly displayed a BB gun outside of a vehicle at the intersection of L and West Fifth streets just before 1:15 p.m. on April 7. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 100 block of West High Street just before 2:55 p.m. on April 7. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue just after 5:45 a.m. on April 8. 

• A single-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Ives and Gallagher roads just after 11:25 a.m. on April 8. 

 

Domestic Violence  

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 1400 block of Johnson Road at 12:45 p.m. on April 8 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

• A Vancouver man was arrested in the 2900 block of Mt. Vista Road at approximately 10:55 p.m. on April 8 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 800 block of West Plum Street just before 12:30 a.m. on April 9 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence after he allegedly broke his significant other’s phone. 

• A Rochester man was arrested in the 1300 block of Rhobina Street just after 12:40 a.m. on April 9 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault and third-degree malicious mischief, both with domestic violence enhancements, for allegedly pulling his significant other to the ground and slashing two tires on the vehicle his significant other was trying to escape in. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Fraud 

• A case of credit card fraud was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Airport Road just after 10:30 a.m. on April 7. 



• A scam where subjects were selling fake jewelry out of a vehicle was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:45 p.m. on April 7. The same scam was reported in the 1400 block Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 8:05 p.m. on April 7. 

 

Theft 

• A third-degree theft reported in the 400 block of Southeast Prospect Street at approximately 4:35 p.m. on April 7 is under investigation. 

• A subject was cited for shoplifting in the 1700 block of North National Avenue just before 5:45 p.m. on April 7. 

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 2100 block of North National Avenue just after 6:20 a.m. on April 8. 

• A subject was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:55 p.m. on April 8 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for shoplifting. 

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 10:10 p.m. on April 8. 

• A carton of cigarettes was reported stolen from a business in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:20 p.m. on April 9. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• At approximately 2:20 p.m. on April 7, a subject who was feeding cats in the 200 block of Southwest James Street reported a woman was yelling at her and calling her “a cat killer.” 

• A woman was reportedly “screaming and yelling” in the 700 block of Northwest West Street just before 3:45 p.m. on April 8. 

• A disorderly male subject was reported in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard just after 6:15 p.m. on April 8. 

• A woman at the intersection of Northwest Boistfort Street and North Market Boulevard was reportedly pressing the crosswalk light repeatedly without crossing the street, causing traffic to stop, at 8:40 p.m. on April 8. The reporting party said the woman was “nodding off” against the crosswalk pole.

 

Criminal Trespass 

• Just before 6:25 p.m. on April 7, a caller reported a homeless man was setting up a tent on private property used to house storage containers at the intersection of Southwest Pacific Avenue and Southwest John Street. 

 

Suspicious Person 

• Just after 9:40 p.m. on April 7, several people reported seeing a man wearing an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs with no shoes walking on North National Avenue toward Chamber Way. Officers were asked to contact him and have him “taken back.” 

• A case involving a suspicious person that was reported in the 200 block of Southwest James Street just after 4:15 p.m. on April 8 is under investigation. 

 

Disputes 

• A physical dispute between three juveniles was reported in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 9:55 p.m. on April 7. The reporting party said they were “not totally sure they were actually fighting or play-fighting.” 

• Two people were reportedly fighting in the road in the 800 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 8:15 p.m. on April 8. 

• An argument that resulted in a window being broken out was reported in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street just before 9:50 p.m. on April 8. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• Just before 9:50 a.m. on April 8, a caller reported hitting a vehicle with a dumpster in the 300 block of Southwest Riverside Drive the day before. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:10 a.m. on April 9. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 2:40 p.m. on April 9. 

• A vehicle reportedly hit the sidewalk in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue, disabling the vehicle, just after 2:45 p.m. on April 9. 

 

Runaway Juvenile

• A runaway juvenile was reported in the 300 block of Southeast Hillsdale Lande at approximately 8:05 p.m. on April 8. The juvenile was reportedly spotted at a friend’s house at about 11:40 p.m. that night. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 165 inmates, including 150 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 117 were reported male and 33 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and three were reported female.
