Sirens: 'Urinating in Front of the Staff'; Man With Towel 'Bullfights' Cars; Suspicious Circumstances; Theft; Assault

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• Money was reported stolen from a business in the 200 block of West Pine Street just after 10:45 a.m. on April 24. The case is under investigation. 

• Just before 3:50 p.m. on April 24, motorhome license plates were reported stolen from the 1700 block of North Tower Avenue sometime within the last two weeks.

• Just before 3:55 p.m. on April 24, a cellphone was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue sometime within the last three weeks. 

• A theft was reported at a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 3:20 p.m. on April 25. The incident occurred several days prior and is under investigation.

 

Recovered Vehicle 

• A stolen flatbed trailer was recovered in the 1600 block of South Gold Street just after 12:25 p.m. on April 25. 

 

Improper Tow 

• A truck was reported stolen from a private parking lot in the 200 block West Main Street just after 6 p.m. on April 25. Officers used the Flock Camera system and were able to locate a picture showing the truck being towed by a tow truck. The tow truck company was contacted and returned the truck after discovering the person who requested the tow was not the owner, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

 

Criminal Trespass

• A homeless man from Olympia was trespassed from a business in the 300 block of North Gold Street just after 11:35 a.m. on April 24 for reportedly “urinating in front of the staff.” 

• Two homeless people were trespassed from a business in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at 11:45 a.m. on April 24 “at the request of management.” 

• A homeless man from Olympia was trespassed from a business in the 1000 block of South Gold Street just before 10:15 p.m. on April 24. 

• A homeless man from Olympia was trespassed from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at 11:05 a.m. on April 25 for “disruptive behavior.” 

• A homeless man from Centralia was trespassed from an establishment in the 900 block of Johnson Road just after 11:55 a.m. on April 25. 

• Two homeless people were trespassed from a private property at the intersection of North Pearl and West Pine streets just after 12:10 p.m. on April 25 after they reportedly parked their car on the property and started unloading personal items. 

• Officers responded to a case of trespassing reported by the homeowner in the 1900 block of Honeysuckle Lane at 8:15 p.m. on April 25. The homeowner reportedly saw a person on their security camera walking around on the side of their house. Officers arrived in the area and cleared the property, to include the inside of the house since the back door was unlocked, according to the Centralia Police Department. Nobody was located on or in the property.

 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• Officers responded to a business in the 1300 block of Alexander Street just after 10 a.m. on April 25 for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers found the vehicle and occupant were legally on the property.

• Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 1200 block of South Gold Street just after 4:20 a.m. on April 26. Someone was reportedly sleeping in the vehicle in a business parking lot. 

• A suspicious person was reportedly “scoping out houses” at the intersection of Seminary Hill Road and East Maple Street just after 5:20 a.m. on April 26. The subject left the scene before officers arrived. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A homeless man from Winlock was “warned for being in the roadway” in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 11:45 a.m. on April 24. 

• A homeless man from Winlock was “warned for being in the roadway” at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues just after 12:15 p.m. on April 24. 

• A man was reportedly “swinging a stick around” near an intersection in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at 3:55 p.m. on April 24. The subject left the scene before officers arrived. 

• A subject was reportedly “banging” on the windows of a business in the 100 block of South Silver Street just after 2:40 p.m. on April 25. The subject left the scene before officers arrived.

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and West Main Street at 12:20 p.m. on April 24. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 800 block of Euclid Way at approximately 1:30 p.m. on April 24. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Johnson Road just before 4:15 p.m. on April 25. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues at 4:30 p.m. on April 25. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue just after 5:05 p.m. on April 25. 

• Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision on the northbound Interstate 5 Exit 81 overpass just after 5 p.m. on April 25. One vehicle reportedly drove into the back of  a stopped vehicle. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of Lum Road and Reynolds Avenue just after 11:40 a.m. on April 25. 

 

Assault 

• Just after 5:35 p.m. on April 24, a victim reported she was “inappropriately touched” while mowing her lawn in the 1200 block of G Street. 

 

Drug Violation 

• Possible unlawful possession of controlled substance charges against a Centralia woman were referred to Centralia Municipal Court following a stop at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and West High Street at 10:45 p.m. on April 24. 

• A baggie of suspected fentanyl pills were located in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 10:25 a.m. on April 25 and were turned over to law enforcement. 



 

Public Assist 

• Officers assisted in unlocking a vehicle in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 11:15 a.m. on April 25 after the keys were locked inside. 

 

Wellness Check 

• Officers checked on a homeless man from Aberdeen after they received a report of him “punching himself in the face” at the intersection of East Maple Street and North Railroad Avenue just before 12:05 p.m. on April 25. 

 

Dispute 

• A physical dispute was reported in the 400 block of West Main Street just before 12:10 p.m. on April 25. 

 

Runaway Juvenile 

• A 9-year-old boy reportedly ran away from a parent in the 2000 block of Earl Street just after 10:05 p.m. on April 25. Officers located the child nearby and returned him to his parent. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Vehicle Accident 

• Damage to a guardrail in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue that was reportedly caused by a vehicle accident sometime over the weekend was reported just before 8:05 a.m. on April 24. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at approximately 3 p.m. on April 24. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• Just before 10:20 a.m. on April 24, a caller asked for a  homeless person sleeping on the side of a building in the 10 block of Northwest Boistfort Street to be moved along. 

 

Disputes 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 100 block of Northeast Coal Creek Road just before 12:25 p.m. on April 24. 

• A possible dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street at 7:05 a.m. on April 26. 

 

Sexual Misconduct 

• A case of sexual misconduct reported in the 100 block of Southwest Sixth Street at 3:30 p.m. on April 24 is under investigation. 

 

Harassment 

• A case of possible harassment was reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 4 p.m. on April 24. 

• A case of possible harassment was reported in the 200 block of Southwest Lewis Street just before 11:15 p.m. on April 24. 

• A case of possible harassment was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street just before 12:30 p.m. on April 25. 

 

Disorderly Conduct

• A “male with a towel” was reportedly “running into traffic ‘bullfighting’ with cars” at the intersection of Northwest Chehalis Avenue and West Main Street at 4:15 a.m. on April 25. 

• Juveniles were reportedly “being disorderly and vaping” at a playground in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street at 4:35 p.m. on April 25. 

• A homeless man was reportedly in the roadway in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 8:20 p.m. on April 25. 

 

Theft 

• A subject was cited for theft of a cargo van in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 2:40 p.m. on April 25. 

• A third-degree theft reported in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way just after 3 p.m. on April 25 is under investigation. 

• A subject reportedly tried to steal a cart full of items from the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:15 p.m. on April 25. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 170 inmates, including 155 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 120 were reported male and 35 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and three were reported female.
