CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Jaime M. Granados, 32, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged first-degree criminal impersonation and a Department of Corrections felony warrant in the 1300 block of Lum Road at about 9:55 a.m. May 23. When contacted, Granados allegedly provided a false name and date of birth to officers to avoid arrest on the warrant.
• Zedekiah Johnson, 27, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for interfering with a health care facility after allegedly being loud and refusing to leave a local medical facility in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at about 12:12 a.m. May 24.
• Melfina R. McFarland, 18, Olympia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree theft after she was allegedly caught shoplifting at a store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 4:31 p.m. May 24.
Accidents
• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported in the 100 block of West Pine Street at about 2:27 p.m. May 22.
• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported in the 1200 block of West Chestnut Street at about 10:43 a.m. May 23.
• A collision with possible minor injuries was reported near the corner of Belmont Avenue and Harrison Avenue at about 3:48 p.m. May 23.
Assault
• Officers received a report of an assault in the 600 block of Warsaw Street at about 6:43 p.m. May 22. The case is under investigation.
Criminal trespass
• A theft reportedly committed by a store manager was under investigation in the 100 block of West Maple Street at about 9:45 a.m. May 22. The subject was trespassed from the store.
• Adrienne Chester, 33, Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for alleged second-degree criminal trespass in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at about 7:53 p.m. May 23.
• A juvenile was trespassed from a business for alleged disorderly conduct in the 2300 block of North Pearl Street at about 11:20 a.m. May 24. According to police, the juvenile was allegedly involved in a suspected theft perpetrated last week.
Department assist
• Centralia police officers assisted the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office with taking Joseph Zandecki, 56, Centralia, into custody for alleged fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) in the 200 block of Washington Way at about 9:22 p.m. May 23.
Drug paraphernalia
• Luis Saucedo Monroy, 30, Chehalis, was arrested in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue at about 2:03 a.m. May 24 and booked into the Lewis County Jail for numerous alleged Lewis County District Court and Centralia Municipal Court arrest warrants. According to police, Monroy was issued additional criminal citations after allegedly being found operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license while in possession of a methamphetamine pipe.
Drug possession
• Tony L. Teal, 42, and Bronwen E. Yows, 33, Centralia, were arrested and issued criminal citations for alleged possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia after they were contacted in a vehicle in the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road at about 9:37 a.m. May 23. According to police, K9 Hector alerted to the odor of narcotics and officers allegedly located suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine.
DUI
• Kelly D. Conner, 66, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged DUI and hit-and-run attended near the corner of Harrison Avenue and Johnson Road at about 3:16 p.m. May 22. According to police, Conner allegedly collided twice with a vehicle and left the scene. An officer located and conducted a traffic stop on Conner as he was driving into Chehalis. During the investigation, Conner allegedly showed signs of alcohol impairment.
• Brian Garcia Galvan, 27, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence of liquor near the corner of South Yew Street and Art Lehmann Drive at about 10:51 p.m. May 23.
Fraud
• A victim’s bank information was reportedly used at a bank in an attempt to withdraw money from the victim’s account. The incident was reported in the 3200 block of Elizabeth Court at about 2:34 p.m. May 24. The case is under investigation.
Harassment
• Officers investigated a reported harassment, which occurred via text message, in the 1400 block of Kresky Avenue at about 7:28 a.m. May 22.
• A report of harassment between juveniles was made in the 800 block of Field Avenue at about 3 p.m. May 23.
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run collision into a city pole was reported in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at about 5:47 p.m. May 23. No suspect information was available at the time.
• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1100 block of West Reynolds Avenue at about 9:04 p.m. May 24. The case is under investigation.
Malicious mischief
• At about 9:48 a.m. May 24, a business in the 100 block of West High Street reported that the front door to their establishment appeared to have been intentionally damaged during nighttime hours.
Theft
• James W. Lowther, 48, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree theft in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road at about 9:34 p.m. May 22 after allegedly stealing a doormat.
• A juvenile was arrested for stealing alcohol from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9:36 a.m. May 22. The juvenile (who was on probation) was reportedly arrested for minor in possession of alcohol and alleged third-degree theft after he brought the stolen merchandise to school.
• Two males, late-20s to mid-30s, in a white Chevrolet Trax with no license plates, broke into multiple vehicles in Centralia and Chehalis, stealing wallets and handbags, according to a report made in the 1500 block of Rice Road at about 3:58 p.m. May 24. According to police, the males tried to use the stolen cards to buy gift cards at several locations in Centralia. An officer reportedly found the vehicle after one of the vehicle prowls and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled, scraping the side of a citizen’s vehicle as it drove around it, and then headed northbound on Interstate 5. Centralia officers pursued, joined by officers from Lewis and Thurston counties, but had to end the chase near Exit 95 due to public safety concerns and a large gap between officers and the suspect. According to police, the suspect vehicle was driving on the shoulders and weaving between cars. The case is under investigation.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Chehalis Police Department has not yet released its most recent call reports. Look for updated information in an upcoming edition of The Chronicle and at chronline.com when the reports are made available.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of May 22, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 133 inmates, including 120 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 102 were reported male and 18 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of May 25, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 17 inmates. Of those, seven were from Centralia and seven were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there was one each from the Quileute Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe and the Chehalis Tribal Court.
