Sirens: Vehicle vs. Pedestrian; DUI Arrest; Drug Arrests; Extortion; Theft

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Malicious Mischief 

• At approximately 10:20 a.m. on Dec. 12, a victim reported a rock was thrown through their window in the 900 block of West First Street sometime overnight. 

• Graffiti on a light pole in the 900 block of K Street was reported at 10:45 a.m. on Dec. 12. 

 

Theft 

• Merchandise was reported stolen from a business in the 500 block of North Tower Avenue just after 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 12. 

• A vehicle that was involved in a collision the previous day was reported stolen from the 600 block of Jefferson Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 12. 

• Grocery items were reported stolen from a business in the 400 block of East Summa Street just after 5:50 p.m. on Dec. 13. The suspect, described in call logs as a male in his 20s, reportedly took the items and ran out of the store without paying. 

 

Extortion 

• Just before 5:05 p.m. on Dec. 12, a victim in the 200 block of West Reynolds Avenue reported being extorted for money after sending personal photographs online. 

 

Drug Violations 

• A Centralia woman was cited for use of drug paraphernalia in the 400 block of West Main Street just after 10:20 p.m. on Dec. 12. About an hour later, the same woman was arrested at the intersection of North Silver and West Main streets and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for disorderly conduct. 

• A female suspect reportedly provided a fentanyl pill to a medical patient in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road just before 6:25 p.m. on Dec. 13. The case is under investigation. 

 

DUI 

• Kevin H. Knobelsdorf, 35, of Centralia, was arrested for driving under the influence after he was involved in a single-vehicle rollover collision in the 2500 block of North Pearl Street just before 11:35 p.m. on Dec. 12. He was released from custody in order to receive medical care.

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of West Cherry Street and South Washington Avenue just after 5:05 p.m. on Dec. 13. 

• One person was transported to the hospital for minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision reported at the intersection of North Buckner and East Maple streets just before 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 13. 

• A vehicle versus pedestrian collision was reported in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just before 9:40 p.m. on Dec. 13. The pedestrian sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run to a parked car in the 300 block of Harrison Avenue that was reported just after 11:25 p.m. on Dec. 13 is under investigation. 

 



Assault 

• A juvenile was arrested in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at 10:10 p.m. on Dec. 13 and was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for allegedly assaulting a nurse. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Bad Checks 

• A case involving the unlawful issuance of bad checks was reported in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard just before 10:50 a.m. on Dec. 12. 

 

Drug Violation 

• A subject was arrested in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at 4:55 p.m. on Dec. 12 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of meth after officers responded to a report of shoplifting. 

 

Vehicle Accident 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Arkansas Way just after 5:10 p.m. on Dec. 12. 

 

Trespassed From Property 

• A subject who had reportedly tried to shoplift from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was trespassed from the business just before 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 12. 

• A subject was cited for trespassing in the 1000 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue at approximately 12:35 a.m. on Dec. 13.

 

Malicious Mischief 

• A case of third-degree malicious mischief reported in the 100 block of Southeast Westside Drive at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Dec. 13 is under investigation. 

 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• At 7 p.m. on Dec. 13, a caller reported her two kids were home alone in the 1400 block of Southwest Grandview Avenue and had seen someone jiggling the door and circling the house. No arrests were made. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 131 inmates, including 116 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 98 were reported male and 18 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 13 were reported male and two were reported female.
