Sirens: Vicious Dogs; Catalytic Converter Theft; Burglaries; Warning for Smoking Marijuana in Public; Drug Violation

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen off of a vehicle in the 800 block of South Tower Avenue just after 9:55 a.m. on April 26. 

• A 17-year-old male and 16-year-old female were arrested for stealing alcohol from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at approximately 5:10 p.m. on April 26. Further investigation revealed the male and female had previously stolen from the store on April 23, and the female had also stolen from another store on April 20, according to the Centralia Police Department. Both subjects were booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center.

• A woman reportedly stole $800 worth of clothing from a store in the 1400 block of Lum Road just after 6:25 p.m. on April 26. 

• A bottle of perfume was reported stolen from a business in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue just after 11:25 a.m. on April 27. 

• A pistol was reported stolen from a purse in the 1300 block of Johnson Road at approximately 5:35 p.m. on April 27. 

• A Chehalis man was cited for stealing merchandise from a business in the 400 block of West Main Street at approximately 10:40 p.m. on April 27. 

 

Burglary 

• Electrical wires were reported stolen from a vacant building in the 100 block of South Ash Street at 11:45 a.m. on April 26. 

• An unidentified subject reportedly attempted to break into a vacant building in the 1200 block of Alder Street just before 4:05 p.m. on April 26. The subject left the scene before officers arrived. 

 

Recovered Vehicle 

• A stolen vehicle was recovered in the 1600 block of Reynolds Avenue at 2:10 p.m. on April 26. 

Drug Violation 

• A Lacey resident was “warned for smoking marijuana in a public space” in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at 3:30 p.m. on April 26. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A subject was reportedly “trespassing on private property and making a mess” in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just after 10:50 a.m. on April 27. The subject left the scene before officers arrived. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• A Centralia woman was cited for trespassing at a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 12:50 p.m. on April 27. 

• A homeless man from Arizona was trespassed from a business in the 1200 block of Alder Street at 7:10 p.m. on April 27 after he was found sleeping in the stairwell. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft

• A case of identity theft was reported in the 1800 block of Southwest Snively Avenue at 7:55 a.m. on April 26. 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 200 block of Northwest Quincy Place at 4:10 a.m. on April 27 is under investigation. 

• A subject was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at 3:05 p.m. on April 27 for stealing a cart full of approximately $1,000 in merchandise from a business in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• A subject was cited for stealing plants from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 9:35 p.m. on April 27. 



 

Suspicious Circumstances  

• A man with a phone was reportedly “staring at kids” in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just before 12:35 p.m. on April 26. 

• A man with a machete was reportedly “cutting his clothes” in the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 2:10 p.m. on April 26. 

• A man in a car that was driving in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue was reportedly “screaming ‘help me’” just after 10:30 p.m. on April 26. 

 

Disputes 

• A physical dispute between two juveniles was reported in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 4 p.m. on April 26. When contacted, the juveniles “claimed it was play wrestling.” 

• A physical dispute between a 17-year-old female and a 14-year-old male was reported in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street at approximately 5:30 p.m. on April 27. The subjects left the scene before officers arrived. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• A subject who was reportedly “harassing employees” at a business in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 6:15 p.m. on April 26 was trespassed from the business. 

• A case of criminal trespassing was reported in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 8:20 p.m. on April 26. 

• A disorderly subject carrying a pistol was trespassed from a business in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at approximately 9:45 a.m. on April 27. 

• A subject who was “being a problem” inside a store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was cited for trespassing in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 5:15 p.m. on April 27. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A disorderly subject was reportedly “cussing at residents” in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just before 3:40 p.m. on April 27. 

Vicious Dogs 

• A case involving a vicious dog that was reported in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street just before 7:40 p.m. on April 26 is under investigation. 

• A case involving a vicious dog that was reported in the 900 block of Northwest Prindle Street just after 9:25 p.m. on April 26 is under investigation. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at approximately 3:45 p.m. on April 27. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:55 p.m. on April 27. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 165 inmates, including 151 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 119 were reported male and 32 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.
