Sirens: White Supremacists Harass; Punched in Bar 'for No Reason' Report Leaves Out Detail; Balloons, Not Gunshots

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Juvenile Problem

• Three minors were reportedly in possession of alcohol in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street at 8:50 a.m. on June 9. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 3:30 p.m. on June 9. 

• Possible injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision in the 10 block of South Market Boulevard just after 3:30 p.m. on June 9. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 2100 block of Jackson Highway just before 1:05 p.m. on June 10. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Southwest Interstate Avenue and Southwest Parkland Drive at approximately 3:10 p.m. on June 11. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run to a street sign was reported at the intersection of Northeast Division Street and Northeast Washington Avenue just after 1:40 p.m. on June 11. 

 

Assault 

• A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested in the 900 block of South Market Boulevard at 4:45 p.m. on June 9 and was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• A subject was trespassed from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 5:25 p.m. on June 9. 

 

Harassment 

• A case of possible online harassment was reported in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just after 12:35 a.m. on June 10. 

• A case of possible harassment was reported in the 1800 block of Southwest Snively Avenue at approximately 3:40 p.m. on June 11. 

 

Theft 

• A white 1994 Honda Civic hatchback with “four to five fish stickers” on it  was reported stolen from the 900 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 10:45 a.m. on June 10. 

• An energy drink was reported stolen from the 600 block of North National Avenue at approximately 3:10 p.m. on June 11. 

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:40 p.m. on June 11. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A disorderly male was reportedly “yelling and screaming” in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 11:15 a.m. on June 10. 

• Subjects were reportedly “yelling and cussing” at the intersection of Southwest Third Street and South Market Boulevard at 10:55 p.m. on June 10. 

 

Dispute 

• A group of white supremacists were reportedly harassing subjects inside a bar in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard at approximately 6:35 p.m. on June 10. At least one bar patron was involved in a verbal dispute with the group. 

• A domestic dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 11:25 p.m. on June 10. 

 

Balloons

• A caller reported hearing five to six gunshots in the 2000 block of Jackson Highway just after 4:20 a.m. on June 11. Law enforcement later confirmed the sound was high school graduates popping balloons at an after party. 

 

Vicious Dog 

• A dog reportedly attacked another dog in the 200 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 10 a.m. on June 11. 

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Abandoned Vehicles 

• Officers were asked to investigate an abandoned motorhome in the 3000 block of Galvin Road just before 8:15 a.m. on June 9. 

• Officers were asked to investigate an abandoned motorhome in the 900 block of Johnson Road at approximately 8:15 a.m. on June 9. 

 



Littering 

• Officers responded to a littering complaint made just before 8:25 a.m. on June 9. Unknown subjects had reportedly dumped plywood and room dividers in the 500 block of East Locust Street. 

 

Burglary 

• At approximately 11:30 a.m. on June 9, there was a report that unidentified subjects broke into a former elementary school in the 1300 block of Rose Street and “ransacked it.” The case is under investigation. 

• A homeless man from Centralia was cited for burglarizing a shelter in the 100 block of North Gold Street just after 3:10 p.m. on June 10. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• A group of homeless people who were reportedly drinking behind a student housing building in the 100 block of South Silver Street just after 1 p.m. on June 9 were trespassed from the property. 

• A homeless man found camping on private property in the 600 block of South Diamond Street was trespassed from the property at the property owner’s request just before 10:50 p.m. on June 9. 

• Two homeless people from Centralia were trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 9:50 a.m. on June 10. 

• Two homeless people, one from Centralia and one from Alabama, were trespassed from a closed area of a park in the 100 block of South Pearl Street just before 11:20 a.m. on June 10. 

• A homeless man who was found “nodded off” behind an ambulance company in the 1200 block of Borthwick Street was trespassed from the property just before 11:30 a.m. on June 10. 

• A homeless man was trespassed from a business in the 1500 block of Lum Street just after 5:15 p.m. on June 10. 

• A homeless man from Centralia was trespassed from several businesses in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue at 9 p.m. on June 11. 

• A homeless man was trespassed from a business in the 1500 block of Kresky Avenue just before 11:25 p.m. on June 11. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Reynolds Avenue and Johnson Road just before 2:45 p.m. on June 9. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Ellsbury and Borthwick streets just after 6:35 p.m. on June 12. 

 

Theft 

• An access device was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Reynolds Avenue just after 5:40 p.m. on June 9. The victim advised the device was used several times before she was able to deactivate it. 

• Diesel fuel was reported stolen out of a rental truck in the 1000 block of South Gold Street just before 10:20 a.m. on June 10. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• A homeless man from Chehalis was cited for slashing the tire of a vehicle parked in front of a library in the 100 block of South Silver Street just before 8:20 a.m. on June 10. 

• An unidentified suspect reportedly slashed the tire on an unoccupied parked vehicle in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 11:40 p.m. on June 10. 

 

Disputes 

• Officers were dispatched to a tavern in the 110 block of South Tower Avenue just before 10:45 p.m. on June 10 for the report of an assault.  The reporting party told law enforcement he was  “being punched in the face for no reason by an unknown male inside the tavern,” according to the Centralia Police Department. Officers later learned “the reporting party was punched after he had poured a beer on the other male’s head,” according to the department. The reporting party departed on foot while officers were contacting witnesses.

• Officers responded to the report of juveniles displaying knives to people in a vehicle in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue at 10:55 p.m. on June 10. The people in the vehicle then reportedly confronted the juveniles approximately one block later. “It was determined that no assault occurred on either occasion after officers contacted the occupants of the vehicle and two of the juveniles,” according to the Centralia Police Department. 

 

Assault 

• An unidentified man was reportedly banging on the windows of a closed store in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at approximately 12:55 a.m. on June 11. The same male later confronted and pushed an employee several blocks away after leaving the store. 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 100 block of North Gold Street just after 10 p.m. on June 11 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault after he assaulted an employee at a business.  

 

Obstructing A Public Servant 

• Police responded to the report of a male banging on doors in an alley and activating a taser in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue at 1:30 a.m. on June 11.  Police located and observed the male activate the taser toward two subjects, who screamed and ran away. Officers attempted to contact the male, who was non-compliant. The male, identified as Frank A. Moe, 41, of Curtis, was issued a citation for obstructing a public servant and issued a traffic/equipment infraction before being released.

 

Drug Violation 

• A Beaverton, Oregon man was cited for possession of “suspected methamphetamines” at the intersection of Belmont and Harrison avenues just after 3:15 p.m. on June 12. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 161 inmates, including 145 in the general population and 16 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 108 were reported male and 37 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 13 were reported male and three were reported female.
