CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Alexander C. Rickman, 20, Mossyrock, was arrested in the 3500 block of Steelhammer Drive at about 1:53 p.m. Oct. 25 for allegedly assaulting a registered nurse and security staff after pulling a fire alarm for no emergent reason. Rickman was booked into the Lewis County Jail.
• Celso Ataque-Fino, 35, Centralia, was arrested for driving under the influence after Ataque-Fino allegedly sped past police heading north on Interstate 5 near milepost 81 at about 6:13 p.m. Oct. 25. The front bumper of Ataque-Fino’s vehicle was also noted as falling off prior to the stop. Ataque-Fino was booked into the Lewis County Jail.
• Michael A. Fortune, 35, Centralia, was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 1400 block of Grand Avenue at about 10:14 p.m. Oct. 25 after he allegedly assaulted his intimate partner at a local establishment. Fortune was transported to the Chehalis Tribal Jail where he was booked into custody.
• Rachel L. Leighton, 41, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding felony warrant that allegedly stemmed from a drug arrest in 2024. Leighton was reportedly found hiding in a detached garage in the 200 block of Latona Street at about 8:16 p.m. Oct. 26, and was allegedly possessing fentanyl and methamphetamine. Leighton was issued a criminal citation and court date for the newly-accrued charges.
• Crystal M. Brooks-Perry, 36, Tacoma, was reportedly arrested for an outstanding felony warrant from the state Department of Corrections in the 1000 block of Ellsbury Street at about 2:51 a.m. Oct. 27. A search of her purse allegedly yielded methamphetamine, over 30 stolen credit cards as well as suspected stolen checks. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to a search warrant. The case is under investigation.
• Jacob V.D. Francisco, 36, Tacoma, was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine and an outstanding warrant out of Thurston County in the 1000 block of Ellsbury Street at about 2:51 a.m. Oct. 27. Francisco was the passenger in the vehicle driven by Brooks-Perry.
Accidents
• A hit-and-run involving damage to a utility pole was reported in the 1200 block of South Tower Avenue at about 3:02 p.m. Oct. 24. The case is under investigation.
• Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 200 block of West Magnolia Street at about 1:35 p.m. Oct. 25.
Animal negligence/abuse
• Cassey Anderson, 23, Centralia, and Telesforo Chigo-Velazquez, 23, Olympia, were arrested and released for third-degree animal cruelty at the corner of South Pearl Street and Jackson Street at about 12:39 a.m. Oct. 25 after allegedly leaving several of their animals in kennels inside a vehicle all day, causing them to defecate and urinate everywhere.
Assault
• A juvenile female was placed under arrest for allegedly assaulting her mother in the 1100 block of South Silver Street at about 8:49 a.m. Oct. 24. The juvenile allegedly resisted arrest, struck an officer in the chest and kicked an officer in the groin as she was being led to a police vehicle. The juvenile was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, third-degree assault and resisting arrest.
• Officers responded to a report of an assault in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue at about 11:50 a.m. Oct. 26. The assault allegedly occurred the night before. The case is under investigation.
Burglary
• Jonathan Church, 32, Centralia, and Tomas Najera, 31, Centralia, were referred to the Lewis County Superior Court for second-degree burglary in the 800 block of West First Street at about 5:05 p.m. Oct. 24 after allegedly entering and remaining unlawfully in a building and stealing property.
Child abuse
• Officers received a report of child abuse in the 400 block of Madison Street at about 12:39 p.m. Oct. 24. The case is under investigation.
Criminal trespassing
• Two transients, who had reportedly been contacted by law enforcement on various occasions, were trespassed from a park in the 800 block of South Gold Street at about 7:59 a.m. Oct. 24 after city park employees allegedly reported that the individuals had been camping in their vehicle over multiple days.
Possession of methamphetamine
• Maria A Zack, 42, Rochester, was reportedly arrested for third-degree driving with a suspended license during a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:13 a.m. Oct. 27. During the contact, methamphetamine, heroin and suspected DMT were allegedly located. Zack was cited for multiple counts of drug possession and criminal traffic.
Theft
• A theft of groceries was reported from a local store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 5:03 p.m. Oct. 24. The case is under investigation.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Oct. 27, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 180 inmates, including 167 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 139 were reported male and 28 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Oct. 27, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 26 inmates. Of those, 12 were from Centralia, two were from Napavine, one was from Elma, and one was from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were four inmates from the Lummi Nation, two from the Quileute Nation, two from the Tulalip Tribe and one each from the Skokomish and Suquamish Tribes.
