Sirens: Woman Steals Mail; Driver Abandons Vehicle After Hitting Pole; 'Aggressive and Belligerent' Woman Made to Leave Property

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A small bottle of whiskey was reported stolen from a store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at 8:55 p.m. on Oct. 21.

• Clothing was reported stolen from an outlet store in the 1200 block of Lum Road just after 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 22. The suspect fled in a Dodge passenger vehicle. The case is under investigation.

• A suspect described as “homeless, possibly a female, about 5-feet-5, wearing a pinkish white and gray coat and a black backpack” was reportedly seen stealing mail out of mailboxes at the intersection of West Main and Benjamin streets at 1:55 a.m. on Oct. 23.

• A Chehalis woman was cited for shoplifting in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just after 7:50 p.m. on Oct. 23.

 

Hit-and-Run

• An unidentified suspect collided with a pole and a fence in the 700 block of South Pearl Street just after 2:20 a.m. on Oct. 22 and fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. The case is under investigation.

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 3000 block of Borst Avenue at approximately 12:55 p.m. on Oct. 22.

 

Recovered Vehicle

• A stolen vehicle was recovered in the 300 block of Noel Avenue at 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 23. The vehicle had been dropped off by an unknown individual approximately one week prior.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• At 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 21, a caller reported checks were stolen from the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard around Sept. 1.

• A vehicle was reported stolen from the 100 block of 100 West Main Street just before 12:10 p.m. on Oct. 22.

 



Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1000 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 5:20 p.m. on Oct. 21.

 

Vehicle Accident

• A woman was injured after her airbag deployed during a vehicle accident in the 800 block of state Route 6 just after 5:20 p.m. on Oct. 21.

 

Trespassed From Property

• A woman was trespassed from a property in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 after she was reportedly “being aggressive and belligerent” toward an employee.

• A woman who reportedly became “upset” after business owners didn’t sell her a car was trespassed from the business in the 200 block of South Market Boulevard just after 12:55 p.m. on Oct. 22.

• A man who refused to leave a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue  was trespassed from the property just before 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 23.

 

Harassment

• A case of possible phone harassment where someone was calling and texting threats was reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at 6:55 p.m. on Oct. 23.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 181 inmates, including 167 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 137 were reported male and 31 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.
