Six Green Hill School residents appeared in Lewis County Superior Court Tuesday and Wednesday this week facing a slate of charges ranging from possession of controlled substances to assault.

All six residents will be tried as adults.

All told, the state brought seven charges against the six defendants, with five of them not being asked to post bail due to consideration for the length of the sentences they are already serving.

Aidan Isaacson and Treyvion Green were both charged on Tuesday, June 24, with one count each of custodial assault for separate offenses. The charge is a class C felony and punishable by up to 5 years in prison or a fine of up to $10,000. Custodial assault is charged when an individual acts against an on-duty employee of a juvenile facility or corrections facility, a community service officer or other similar personnel.

According to court documents, the incident involving Isaacson occurred when he was approached by a Green Hill staff member after ignoring instructions to return to the dinner table. When approached, Isaacson reportedly began punching the staff member. Isaacson’s bail was set at $5,000 secured cash or bond and can be posted for his release after serving out his current sentence.

Green received the same felony charge. According to court documents, the incident being charged happened when Green was being carried to his room after ignoring orders to return on his own. While being carried, Green spat in the face of a Green Hill staff member. He was not asked to post bail.

Tyree Sanders was charged on Tuesday, June 24, with two counts of intimidating a public servant. According to court documents, Sanders threatened violence against two Green Hill staff members while detained after attempting to join in on a fight.

“As staff were attempting to break up a fight, the defendant attempted to enter the fight and was detained by staff,” reads the affidavit of probable cause provided by the Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. “While attempting to detain the defendant, the defendant threatened to harm two of the staff members.”

Montrell Hatfield was charged Wednesday, June 25, with one count of possession of a controlled substance — a class C felony. According to court documents, Hatfield is being charged after being found in possession of more than two dozen “bindles” that tested positive for marijuana. Hatfield was not asked to post bail.

Both Shane White and Alexis Vivanco-Reyes were charged with possession of a controlled substance or narcotic drugs. The charge is a class C felony.

White was reportedly charged after a room search yielded a white powdery substance that later tested positive for MDMA. The search was reportedly initiated after staff members saw smoke coming from the residents room.

According to court documents, Vivanco-Reyes was charged after being found in possession of a hidden and unapproved cellphone. The affidavit of probable cause says that the cellphone was hidden in a DVD case.

Neither were asked to post bail.

Crime has been on the rise at Green Hill School over the last two years as the Chehalis-based juvenile detention facility has struggled with overcrowding.
