The Washington State Patrol and Central Mason Fire & EMS rescued a skydiver from a tree on Sunday after he lost consciousness on his way down.

He was then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

WSP Trooper Katherine Weatherwax said the rescue happened Sunday, July 9, on the State Patrol's drive course in Shelton. She said the man lost consciousness due to the G-force, and his emergency parachute deployed.

Weatherwax said the man was shaken up and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
