The Southwest Washington Dance Center will host the 31st annual Dance Festival Northwest at 7 p.m. on March 22.
It will be held at Corbet Theatre on the campus of Centralia College.
Dance Festival Northwest brings dance companies from around the Pacific Northwest to the Centralia and Chehalis area. The dancers attend master dance classes together as a group, and then each individual company performs dance pieces that they have prepared.
This year, audiences will see diverse forms of dance performed, including contemporary and classical ballet on pointe, modern and contemporary dance, jazz, ballroom, tap and hip hop.
The host company, under the direction of Artistic Director Brianna Jones, is the Southwest Washington Dance Ensemble from Chehalis.
For over 42 years, the Southwest Washington Dance Ensemble has performed for audiences, including at the Lewis County Community Concerts, the Miss Lewis County Scholarship Pageant, The Nutcracker ballet, the Northwest Wind Symphony and the Merce Cunningham Tribute.
“They have also danced at Dancepalooza in Seattle, Dance to Make a Difference Charity Gala, and Olympia Dance Festival,” the dance center stated in a news release. “The ensemble also tours, every spring, with a production for elementary schools in greater Lewis County and South Thurston County.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors 62 and older, military and children. The cost to view the live stream is $20.
