Toledo High School hosted a ceremonial reveal of a new Washington State Arts Commission artwork on Monday, May 4, in the commons area.
The piece, titled Toledo, is a 5-by-23-foot glass mosaic representing the Toledo community, created by artists Sandra and Carl Bryant.
The artwork was funded through the state’s Art in Public Places program, which allocates one-half of 1 percent of all state construction costs to public art.
The event included light refreshments and a brief presentation on the 18-month process of acquiring the artwork and selecting the artists.
Sandra and Carl Bryant were in attendance, along with members of the selection committee and the local community.
