Both directions of state Route 131 near U.S. Highway 12 in Lewis County are closed due to flooding, the Washington state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The closure is between mileposts 0.4 and 2.0 on state Route 131.

“Maintenance crews and emergency responders are on site working to determine next steps, but there's no estimated time for reopening the highway,” WSDOT said in a news release. “Travelers who need access on either side of the closure will need to use an alternate route.”

Both directions of state Route 503 between mileposts 35.6 and 35.75 near Cougar in Cowlitz County are also closed due to flooding, according to WSDOT.

Updates on both closures will be shared as more information becomes available, WSDOT stated.
