Freshman State Sen. Jeff Wilson, R-Longview, will run to once again represent the 19th Legislative District in Olympia.

Wilson, first elected in 2020, announced Thursday that he will seek reelection in 2024.

“My commitment to the 19th District is to represent everyone and ensure fair and open government,” he said in an announcement of his intention to run. “I am seeking a second term to continue to build upon the success that my service has demonstrated to the people of southwest Washington.”

Wilson is the ranking member of the State Government and Elections committee and sits on the Housing, Human Services and Transportation committees. Wilson has also sat on the Sunshine Committee, which reviews and makes recommendations on potential exemptions to the state’s Public Records Act, and serves as co-chair of the Rail Caucus Committee.

In addition to serving in the State Senate, Wilson is also a commissioner for the Port of Longview.
