Summer Baseball: Early Hole Sinks I-5 Toyota Against LCBC AAA

Posted

Falling into a 7-0 hole before the bottom of the third inning, AAA I-5 Toyota Mountain Dew couldn’t dig itself out of an early hole in an 11-6 loss to Lower Columbia’s AAA squad Tuesday evening at Wheeler Field in Centralia.

Though I-5 Toyota battled back to make it a one-run game with back-to-back three-run innings in the third and fourth, the Mountain Dew bats went quiet over the final five innings in the loss.

Weston Potter had I-5’s only extra bases hit, and was the only Dewer to have a multi-hit game, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs with a double. Conner Holmes, Alex Stafford, Ross Kelley, and Brooks Ledgerwood also each knocked in RBIs.

On the bump, I-5 threw out six pitchers over the nine inning contest, with each having their ups and downs. Stafford was steady over three innings in relief, giving up no runs, just two hits, and striking out a team-high three batters.

Next up for I-5 Toyota Mountain Dew is the Brent Edwards Tournament, starting Thursday in Selah.
