Summer Baseball Roundup: Dirtbags Take Down T90, I-5 Falls to LCBC

Playing in a doubleheader in Stone City, the RBI Dirtbags took home a sweep on the road against the Tenino Trappers in summer ball, 10-2 and then 17-3. 

In Game 1, Gavin Frewing of Toledo was strong on the bump for the Dirtbags, fanning 12 and allowing just three hits in five innings of work. Morton-White Pass’ Keaton Thompson pitched the final two innings, both scoreless. 

Frewing also went 3 for 4 at the dish with three runs scored, and Garrett Keaton of Willapa Valley went 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

In Game 2, a four-inning 17-3 win, Tre Groninger of Oakville went 2 for 2 with two runs, Blake Howard of Pe Ell went 2 for 3 with two runs, Thompson went 2 for 2 with two runs, and Frewing went 1 for 1 with three runs scored. 



Elsewhere, in the AA American Legion ball, I-5 Toyota-Mountain Dew fell to Lower Columbia, 13-4. 

I-5 peppered 16 hits across the field but could only manage four runs, and committed six errors to help LCBC score 13 runs on nine hits. 

Conner Holmes of Napavine went 2 for 5 with two RBIs, Jack Nelson went 4 for 4 with two runs scored, Ashton Demarest went 2 for 4, and Alex Stafford went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
