Support sought for man who broke a vertebra while jumping his truck at the Southwest Washington Fair

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched for a Napavine man who was injured during the “Jump Your Junk” event during the demolition derby at the Southwest Washington Fair on Sunday.

Trevor Graves was the only participant to take part in the event — which was set to allow participants to drive off a dirt ramp in front of the grandstands — as it was canceled after he jumped his Ford Ranger.

Graves was cared for by paramedics and taken to a hospital after the jump.

A crowdfunding campaign was launched Thursday by Trevor’s wife, Sabrina Graves, who said Trevor’s T7 vertebra was broken during the jump.

“He spent some hours at the ER and they told him it will be a minimum of three months (of) no work,” Sabrina wrote. “His primary care doctor is out of town on vacation and to top that off we have been having some issues getting him into a doctor that deals with spinal injuries. Because of this we are going to be at least three to five weeks without a paycheck and bills are still coming in. We have been to three different urgent cares hoping that someone would fill out his medical leave paperwork with no luck. We are asking for help. We are a family of five and just trying to stay afloat. If you can donate, we greatly appreciate it. If you cannot donate, prayers and shares are always welcome. Thank you all and God bless.”

The campaign has a goal of raising $5,000.
