The Tumwater boys basketball team saw a slim halftime lead slip away in Longview on Tuesday, in a 61-54 loss to Mark Morris.

The T-Birds (4-1, 3-0 2A EvCo) were up 33-32 at halftime, but saw their hosts go on an 18-7 run in the third quarter to take a double-digit lead, and couldn’t get things back any closer than four.

Jacob Dillon led the Thunderbirds with 15 points, Bryce Morgan had 11 and Beckett Wall added 10.

The Thunderbirds will head to the land of the state tournament for the SunDome shootout next, facing Port Angeles on Thursday and Grandview on Friday in Yakima.
