The Tumwater boys basketball team started slow but found its scoring down the stretch to earn a bounceback win over Aberdeen, 63-38 on Wednesday.

Jacob Dillon took his turn to lead the offense with 19 points, Sahara Anthony III had 12 and Bryce Morgan pitched in 10.

Aberdeen’s Manny Garcia led all scorers with 29 points, but the Thunderbirds (3-1, 2-0 2A EvCo) held his teammates to a collective nine.

The Bobcats led 9-7 after a quarter thanks to three Garcia 3-pointers and a horrific 3-for-15 from the field for Tumwater. Come the second quarter, though, the hosts went on a 15-6 run to take the lead going into the break, and pulled away for good with a 26-10 fourth.

Tumwater will end the week at home Friday against Centralia.
