The Tumwater baseball team got back in the win column in its final game of the regular season on Thursday, defeating Shelton 9-2 on its home diamond.

The game was scoreless through one, but three runs in the second, four in the third, and two in the fourth gave Tumwater a 9-0 lead.

Peyton Davis had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while Will Bond and Kade Contreras added a hit and an RBI of their own. Cody Lambert and Derek Thompson also drove in runs.

Luke Houk didn’t allow a run and struck out four in four innings of work.

Tumwater finishes the regular season 15-6 with a 13-2 mark in EvCo play, and the T-Birds will be the league’s No. 2 seed in the upcoming district tournament.

As a result, they’ll host either Mark Morris or Ridgefield in a district quarterfinal on Tuesday.
