The Morton-White Pass boys basketball team came close to notching win number one on the season, but a seven-point halftime lead was wiped away in an eventual 46-41 loss to Coupeville on Saturday at home.
Coupeville had the second half advantage over MWP, 33-21. The Wolves’ Chase Anderson had 11 of his game-high 26 in the final eight minutes. The Timberwolves only attempted four free throws in the second half and head coach Kevin Dunlap admitted they “had a tough time getting going.”
“We didn’t look nearly as strong defensively,” Dunlap added. “The boys worked hard again and competed.”
Logan Mays led MWP with 14 points and Sebastian Gonzalez recorded 11. It returns to C2BL play on Tuesday versus Adna.
